I recently was called by a local solar company with the similar pitch as before. The we are in your area helping people save on their electricity bill and got the company's information to check them out here. I was surprised to find the name of this one company because several years ago we had a pool heating company make an appointment with me and my husband where we paid them a 500 dollar deposit to install pool heating solar panels on our house. As time went by and nothing happened we called them repeatedly and they assured us that the delay was for many great reasons. Then after a time had gone by the financing company that we signed with the solar company sent us the bill and we called the solar company and then the financing company. We later found that the solar company had forged our signature with the finance company and we had to jump through loops to get it undone. We called Fafco at that time and they said they could not do anything about it. The distributor was a very large customer of Fafco named Florida Solar who we found out later had scammed many homeowners through out Florida and Fafco was very aware of it and kept selling to these thugs. I agree with this post above as we lost our $500.00 and it cost us to damage our credit score as we later found out that this Florida solar company had forged our signature with several lenders and the sale of 4900. That we signed up for had been cashed in with loans up to 15,000 paid to them. I agree do not let any solar company salesperson or company convince you to let them in to your home. If you must have solar panels go to a solar energy store in your city buy the panels and equipment that will run you much less and find an installer and hire them yourself. We did this with our second home and it worked great. Total cost 3000.installed
