Complete rip off... Neglects resposiblities... Doesn't fix reported issues... Doesn't hold up to agreements

I began renting from this company in June. I'm now at the end of my lease this month and it has been a complete and udder disaster through this entire year. When myself and now ex girl-friend moved in, we filled out all the paperwork on things wrong with the apartment and handed it in. I called that same week to make sure they received the papers and they said they did and would start on the issues right away. Just about everything on that list is still the way it was a year ago. This includes cracked windows, leaking pipes (odor as well), poor electrical wiring and rotting ceiling tiles. Not to mention the fact they had a month notice prior to the move in (the apt. Was also empty for a few months prior to this) to have the place cleaned and when it came to sign the lease the only thing they could say is it was to short notice to have it cleaned. I spent a week scrubbing the apt. Just so I could move in.

With all that aside (moving headaches) everything seemed fine, what a joke. Within the first month or so the roof leaked. Upon my investigation of the leak I found a nice size crack (at least 6in.) in the ceiling. I immediately called their emergency line only to be told that there is nothing they could atm and they will send someone out to look at it. Two or Three weeks went by without anyone coming out or calling me to fix the crack or even look at it. I talked to the people who live above me and to my surprise they did have someone come out but it was only to tar the hole on the outside and not fix the ceiling itself. The crack is still there. Along with this issue, I also had a rather funky odor coming from somewhere in the apt. As well. After lots of searching I discovered that there was a leak under the sink that was draining from the apt. Above me. I once again called to have this fixed and it took about two weeks for someone to come out and tell me that a real plumber has to fix it. When I came home the one day I found a nice mess in my kitchen and all the stuff under my sink was just thrown about. The one cabinet door hinge was broke and the left trim piece snapped off. Only thing that was good was they PACTHED the leak.

I've also called them about my tub backing up all the time and they just said use a snake and it will be fine. Upon this, I stated to them that I can't because of the way the piping is and they just ignored me from there. Now I'm also getting a odor coming from the tub pluming (how nice). Along with this I have called to have someone check on the furnace/hot water heater as a majority of the time there is no hot water. Only thing I got as a response is don't take a shower at the same time as others. Ok, this I understand but, I live in a building with at least five other apts. If not more. Am I supposed to knock on all their doors and see when they had a shower last or used hot water just so I can get a shower. On top of this, I work a slightly weird second shift. Most people aren't even in the building when I get ready for work so I'm pretty sure that it's not too many people trying to use the water at the same time. I can run the water at times for 30 mins. And it's still ice cold.

I guess I will close this up (even know there is lots more) with this last part. Don't, and I mean don't, ever make any kind of verbal agreement or understanding with this company as they will stab you in the back every time. I had given them a check prior to rent being due only to find out that between my job screwing up my vacation check and the fact that I need to buy a car the same week for my girlfriend (as hers left her sit and wouldn't run). She called them up to explain the situation and that if they held the check till the following week (which there is already a 5 day grace period) the money would be in the acct. They said it won't be a problem as they are taking the checks into the bank around the 11th so there are no worries and they won't charge use a late fee and bounced check fee. To my surprise I received a letter saying that I owe them rent late fee bounced check fee. Rather nice yes... To add to this situation the car I had purchased from a no longer friend died two months later. I called them up again to tell them the situation and that I can either pay rent and starve or buy food and get them the check on the 5th of that month instead of the 1st (which they agreed upon). Now mind you I mentioned a "5 day grace period" earlier. The 5th came and just like I promised I dropped the check off in there drop box after work and went home. Like before, I received another letter stating that I owe them a late fee!!!

There are lots more issues and all around headaches but I think you get the point. Stay away from this company. They will take you for all you have then spit on you afterwards.
