After 6 long months, I received a partially finished $ 8000.00 custom door from Jason Perkins. Mr. Perkins as other people have stated takes your money and then holds you hostage while giving all kinds of excuses as to why the door isn't ready or not getting delivered. After taking delivery the following items were horribly wrong with the door.
1) Brick molding was not wide enough to allow siding to be installed to the molding, $250.00 dollars of Alder wood had to be purchased
2) Door had to be removed from house to re-install bottom sash which never protrududed past the framing of the house. A 10' piece of oak had to be purchased
3) Improper hinges were installed and painted black. Original hinges were for lightweight interior doors. $60.00 dollars worth of Emteck hinges had to be purchased and routed into door.
4) No weather stripping came with the door.
5) The wrought Iron inlay was screwed to the door instead of routed into it, and the routed area was much larger than the iron work itself. A welder has to come to the hpouse to custom fabricate new iron work to fit in the routed areas.
6) A speak easy was installed in the door which can literally be pulled off with one hand. The door to the speak easy was never rabbitted and allows light to come throught. The speak easy had to be rebuilt properly and re-installed.
7) The door does not fit properly in the jamb
8) The quality of the Alder wood was poor at best. Cuts and joints were done poorly
After months of emails, and phone calls never being returned, it took some local people I knew to physically go to the shop and demand results. If anyone has any idea of using this company, I would only do so if you want to loose your money and your hair from total aggrevation. Stay away!!! Horrible experince. He should be sued and closed down
