I used Deerwood Landscape for a backyard project and was extremely dissatisfied with the owner and the results of the project, which by the way was never completed. The project should have taken maybe 4-6 weeks and it has been 8 months!
The owner is unreliable. He would often not show up when he said he would and not call as a courtesy.
He cuts corners where ever he could (e.G. Used plastic drain covers instead of brass) and did not have an attention to detail. For example, we have electical conduit that runs down the outside of an exterior wall, which should be flush with the wall, however, ours stands out about two inches. It is located in a sitting area so it looks terrible!
His employees were very slow workers. They were at the house maybe 3-4 hours each day, however, spent half of that time on smoke breaks!
The owner was unorganized and was unable to remember details we had discussed previously so many items discussed were never done (e.G., requested 1-1/2 inch conduit for fountain electrical line but got 1-inch, run the drain line from the outdoor island to the drain outlet...) and he was not willing to decrease the project cost even though there were several items he forgot to do!
He overcharges for the quality of work that he delivers. Our cement job is embarassing! He understaffed the job and it shows. There are noticable trowel marks, over 25-30 low spots that puddle (up to 1/4 inch deep), areas that look like the cement is peeling, and sloppy finishing around our drains, deck posts, and the house. We even have a cigarette burn in our new cement from one of his employees! We are looking into replacing the cement it looks so bad!
I could go on and on with complaints but the bottom line is that we definitely paid more than we should have for the quality of work that we received!
I would not recommend this company!
