Affordable Garage Door Service - AAA All-state Overhead Door Service, ASAP Overhead Door
GDS Garage Door Service Co, Affordable Garage Door Services, shoddy work, overpriced, horrible customer service after complaint Seattle -based, local contractors Seattle Washington

One of the struts on our garage door was bent, due to an accident a while back. We finally decided to get it repaired this year. My wife called this company from the phone book listing ("Affordable Garage Door Services"). A technician came. He gave us an estimate for the strut ($100) and labor ($75). I asked why the strut cost $100, and he immediately gave me a $25 discount (I was very suspicious and should have said something at the time; turns out I could get a 16 foot strut for less than 40 dollars elsewhere, if that). He said he would do it the repair for $150.

I thought I would be saving time and money if I let him do the work. He came the following day. The wife didn't check on the work very well as she was rushing to go to work, but when she closed the garage door, she noticed that one of the in-set panels now had a gap where there was none, and the cracks on the wooden door had worsened.

I came home and immediately started regretting our decision&we might have to totally replace the door.

I called the company and got someone who identified himself as Jeremiah. I immediately said I needed to complain about a service. He said I would need to call the next day, between 6 am and 5pm, when there would be managers. After I hung up, I noticed that it was only 4:50 pm, Pacific Time, so I called up again. "Jeremiah" got my call again. I told him I was the earlier caller, and said it wasn't 5pm yet and asked to speak to a manager. He said I needed to call the next day, then he abruptly hung up. I thought that was very unusual.

By then I was upset. I called again. This time another person got my call. They were probably anticipating a call back. This new customer service person didn't give his name, and instead of dealing with me in a cordial manner, he was threatening and rude, saying he "monitored" my call, etc. I reminded him that I was a paying customer and deserved the least bit of courtesy, but to no avail. He put me on hold for a while, then I decided I would call the next day.

This really made me wonder and prodded me to research the company on the Web. Before I stumbled on this website, I found out that they do use different business names (Affordable, AAA, and Asap) but the same local phone number for the Seattle area: 206-232-8270. I was smelling a scam.

Like previous users of this website, I wish I did an internet search for them before I used their services. I totally regret my decision.

This company gives shoddy technical and customer service, and they are overpriced. They obviously know how to game their customers - the arrogance over the phone is just mind-blowing.
