How to make sure you have a Warrenty and then get ripped off!

I bought an investment house. Took out a warrenty in May. Air handler is located in the attic and started leaking. Called for service on March 3. Artisan Air's Service man said someone had broken a water connection and that they could not do anything about the repair. I talked with Derek of AHS on March 4 and Monica on March 4, and Derek again on March 5.

They all gave me the same story. No one has been in the attic to break anything. We had one service call on May 16 by the Air Doctor (sent out by AHS the service man was Don Carmody and he added 3 lbs of Freon. They said that the system was aging and the note on the service ticket says "System should be upgraded." The warrenty from AHS says "Your AHS Warrenty covers your home systems and appliances no matter what age." "If we determine your covered system or appliance can't be fixed by a service contractor, it will be replaced based on your contract agreement. "This company is refusing to do anything about our problem, saying someone broke this water connection. This is an older house and the appliances are old, which is why paid $500.76 for a home warrenty. They need to do something about this.

I wish I had checked with usacomplaints.com before paying for this warrenty! I feel they are responsible to pro-rate the cost of an air handler or make some kind of restitution. What a ripp off!!!
