I ordered $25.98 worth of Zorbeez cleaning cloths on 7/29/07. The order shipped on 8/02/07, and as of 9/28/07, still hasn't arrived.
Zorbeez charged my card $48.64. I wrote asking them what these charges were for. Their response was: $25.98 for Zorbeez, $3.71 for California sales tax and $18.95 for shipping, totaling $48.64.
They also said that my Zorbeez would arrive within ten days of their email response, which I suspect means that they had never shipped them in the first place.
Zorbeez had never disclosed shipping costs to me, which are obviously padded. They advertise their items at a cheap price and try to make up the difference with ridiculously high shipping charges.
By contrast, any shipper could have delivered that lightweight product for far less money and much more quickly. Yet they expect I will pay $18.95, plus incorrect sales tax charges (to their benefit of course) for a product that takes eight weeks to arrive.
These are very questionable business practices.
Zorbeez is located in Tennessee, which has the highest sales tax rate in the nation. Even at 9.75% (highest possible sales tax rate in Tennessee), my sales tax would only have been $2.53.in their email, they specifically stated "California sales tax" which, in my county (Los Angeles County) would amount to $2.14.
Yet Zorbeez has charged $3.71 for "California sales tax."
They have earned a complaint to the Better Business Bureau as well.
