This company (MLS Realty) is the realty company for BuyOwner.com. These people agree to use their real estate agents to help you sell your home if you decide to move from trying to sell your home by yourself through the aide of BuyOwner's advertising. Because I was moving out of the county, it became increasingly inconvenient for me to continue to make attempts at showing my home, while I was living several counties, as well as several hours away. I counted on their agents to assist me by being aggressive in advertising and showing my home.

My first mistake was signing their 12-month contract. I've learned a big lesson as a result of dealing with MLS Realty, (or any other real estate company, for that matter!) that you NEVER sign a 12-month contract with a real estate agency, to sell your home! After approx. 90 days, I was not getting the results that I hoped from the agent the company assigned to me. He was lazy and I suppose expected the house to sell on its own! When I requested to cancel the contract, I was told by the broker WILLIAM BRONSTEIN that "We DON'T break contracts, ever!"

So as a result, they assigned a different agent to me, who, in the beginning pretended to make more of an effort, however, he was not aggressive either. I had to beg and plead with him to conduct an Open House on my property in the hopes that it would attract more inquiries. I shouldn't have to do this. It should be their job to pull out all of the stops in the hopes of trying to sell my property, especially in light of the poor and slow market at this time.

NOW... Because I've had no success in either selling or renting my property, foreclosure procedures have begun, since I can no longer afford to keep paying 2 mortgages. The mortgage company for the property sympathizes with my situation and in light of the current market, is agreeing to perform a Deed-In-Lieu in an effort to save what's left of my credit. However, they too, have tried to reason with the broker, to get them to break the contract, in the hopes that I can go elsewhere for a more aggressive agent to help sell the home. They are refusing to cooperate with the mortgage company, even to the extend of agreeing to a lower commission (They want their full 6%!!), and as a result, my credit is continuously declining and I'm not getting any relief in sight with regard to having my property being shown, much less getting it sold or rented. They've got me bound to a 12-month contract that they refuse to break and furthermore, they don't seem to be working hard enough to help sell or rent the property. It is very frustrating because I cant afford a real estate attorney to go after them. They enjoy taking advantage of people like me who cant do any better for themselves!

This whole ordeal has left me very discouraged. I moved from Palm Beach County to start a new life for me and my son and to live closer to my new job at NASA. When I should be excited about starting over in a new home, in a new city, in a new county, with a new job, I've only been dealing with too much stress and nothing else to show for all the hard work that it took for me to pack up and move to start a new life.

If this can happen to me&I'm sure if they are allowed to continue their business practices in this manner, they will do it to someone else... If they haven't already! I'm not familiar with real estate law and perhaps they are within their legal right to do as they've been, however, that doesn't make it right!

Let me add that after speaking to the mortgage company trying to help me resolve this problem, they have determined that on top of everything else, MLS Realty has placed a lien on my home, until my 12-month contract expires! So it wasn't enough that they lie and cheat but they also make sure that they keep you down where they want you... These people are brutal! I can't sell my home, I can't rent it, and meanwhile, my credit is plummeting and I'm in debt up to my ears and legally, they can get a way with it! In the freaking United States of America!

My first mistake was to think that originally I could save money and commission costs by signing with Buy Owner to help sell my home by myself through the aide of their advertising! I paid close to $3,000.00 on their advertising and for the 1st 4 or 5 months, I never saw my house listed on the internet, except for their own site! Finally, I saw it on Realtor.com months later!

The sad thing is they let this single, struggling mom who lives on a secretary's salary, trying to hold down 2 jobs and is going to school to earn a degree (for a better life!) believe that she was getting a good deal and I made the mistake of placing my trust in them especially when I had to move because time was running out and I had to start my new job soon, and they lured me into signing up with their realty dept. (MLS Realty) to continue to help me sell my home while I'm hundreds of miles away! Never again! I don't care how good the market is nor if my next home could sell itself, will I ever do business with any outfit like these people!

I don't know how they can sleep at night, knowing how many lives and families they're helping to destroy! Something needs to be done! Is there no other option for working class folks like me??!!
