Ripoff Bad Contractors Poor Customer Service Rude Customer Service Reps

Our a/c stopped working last Tuesday at 1:00am in the middle of a heat wave. We called FAHBPC to get someone out ASAP. An a/c company called us the next morning to schedule service for the following day between 12-2. After 3 phone calls and the tech saying "I am almost there", he showed up at 3:30.

He looked at the unit and said "nothing is wrong". We told him the fan won't run, something is wrong. He reluctantly replaced the motor and said, "It works perfect now. But, let me check out the connections in your attic." After 10 minutes in the attic and a lot of noise, he came down and said "the unit is shot and we need a whole new unit." He said we need a state mandated air flow inspections and a new platform for the new unit. We would need to pay him $750 and then he would bill FAHBPC the rest.

When he left, we turned the unit on and it worked great. We went in the attic to see what he had done and we found that he had disconnected the air vents to all of our upstairs bedrooms so that it would seem like the air was not working. We took pictures of the disconnected air vents and all of the insulation that he tore up.

We immediatly called FAHBPC to inform them of the sabatoge. Their young, inexperienced, rude service reps told us that there was nothing that they could do for us. We explained that the a/c company was trying to defraud them and us. We asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor Jose also said there was nothing he could do. We asked to have another company come out to check out our a/c. He said all he could do is send out the original company to fix what they broke. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??? We said no way!

Jose said that he has to wait for a report from the ac company before he can discuss our broken ac. We have called twice since then and Jose has not returned our calls. We asked Jose for the state contractors license # for the company that he sent to our house and he said that he could not give us that information (it is public record and has to be supplied to us upon request).

On one of our calls, the service rep got very short on the phone with us and told us "Let me tell you how it is...", "This is our policy and there is nothing you can do about it...". She placed us on hold for 10 minutes while she typed in our claim. We suspected that no one was on the other end of the line and we kept saing, "Hello, is anyone there???". She picked up the phone, LAUGHING, and said "I muted you and could here you the whole time. I was just busy typing and didn;t want to pick up the phone" I wanted to reach through the phone!

Their customer service, choice of contractors and follow through is HORRIBLE!
