We moved into our new doulblewide on March 31st. We were unaware of any bankruptcy or company buy out at that time when we signed the papers. Now, I have a water leak that I did not know about until 3 weeks ago when my bathroom floor started sinking. We had a contractor come out and see what was happening. He verified that the fittings below the floor have been leeking for atleast a year and it was a manufacturing problem. I have called Clayton homes who bought out Oakwood/Freedom homes and they basically said tough luck. I called they warranty people and the said sorry. I called my home owners insurance company that we purchased through Freedom Homes and they said since it was a manufacturing issue, they cannot help me. So basicaly I'm up the creek and a lot of money to repair the floor. The sad thing is, it should have been caught by the so called home inspector. No one will own up to this problem.
