In July '05 I ordered a vacuum from Oreck on their website. During the ordering process it was stated they will ship the product within 7-10 working days. After 4 weeks and not receiving the vacuum, I emailed them asking them to either ship the product or cancel the order. They did finally ship the vacuum. Upon receipt, I found there was no invoice, warranty paperwork, or any printed material of any kind included in the shipment.

On August 8, I emailed Oreck using their website contact form asking for a copy of paperwork in order to validate the warranty period as they won't honor their warranty without it. They responded on August 9th saying they would provide the paperwork via US Mail and I would receive it within 7-10 business days. When I didn't receive it by September 10, I again emailed them requesting a copy be provided. Still no response. On October 10 I again emailed them for the same thing. Today is October 21st and I still have yet to hear from them. I tried calling their customer service 800 number today and got cut off after waiting for almost 40 minutes.

I realize that the hurricane affected them in late August, but according to their website they are up and running as before.

I would not recommend anyone buy their products online! They won't provide "customer service"... I apparently have a vacuum cleaner with an invalid 21 year warranty for which I paid a premium price.
