Aqua pools promised us everything and delivered on nothing. Our nightmare began at the sale when a lying shark of a salesman "sold us" on the premise that aqua was everything we needed in a pool contractor & more.
We brought to him a design that we liked very much from another builder, he immediatly began to tell us what was wrong with it, changed it and convinced us his was better, now we are stuck with a pool they built us instead of the pool we wanted.
He promised us a "virtual CD" of our backyard showing exactly how it was going to look when it was done, we never got it. Everytime I asked him about it he would say "Oh, that dept. Is really backed up right now, as soon as it is done I'll deliver it myself". What A liar. Aqua offers no such service.
He promised us 30 additional feet of concrete decking, help with our landscape project, he even promised me a lemon tree! We never got it, it was all a lie. A fellow associate was in the room when he made that promise (Patti) However, a total lack of integrity is rampant at Aqua so it will be no surprise to me if she denies this or conveniently forgets.
Then our nightmare with the construction began, at our walk through it was brought to our attention by the Project Manager that our shallow end was very narrow approx. 2 to 3 feet in length, (this is the sharks new design) we aggreed to lengthen the pool by 3 additional feet increasing the length of the shallow end to at LEAST 5 feet in length, we paid an additional amount of $2,550.00 for three more feet of shallow end to add to my existing 2-3 feet of shallow. (2 3=5 to all you brain dead at Aqua)
After the pool was extremely over dug, issues with the deep end, rebar & plumming. The shallow end measued out to approx. 3 1/2 feet in length. What happened to my five feet? Nobody can tell me. Except to say it was all a guess. And that what I ended up with is exactly what any standard pool would get. Except it cost me an additional $2,550.
Aquas solution, after many, many, many arguements and threats they "spilt the difference" of the additional cost with me. They spilt the difference on their mistake. Even after a Aqua Supervisor (Shane) came out and said "Yeah, what you paid for and got is bullshit" that is a direct quote.
Our next nightmare is with the decks (concrete). Every inch of concrete on our property has a salt finish with a broom band edge. 80 feet of driveway, walkways and an existing pad in the backyard!!! That is what we wanted and stated to the shark, oh I mean Mark. What we got was plain smooth finish concrete, that does not match the existing.
When we checked our contract, yep you guessed it, the shark wrote it down wrong. Now we are stuck with trying to fix it. Aquas solution, none. Even after the shark admitted to me he had made a mistake. He said "he would make sure this would get taken care of" When I asked him at what additional cost, he said "None, if I have anything to do with it" That was a lie too.
And of course Aqua will not even admit to the possibility that they have a liar in their employ. They would rather call me a liar. After they took my money of course. And I know for a fact I am not the first customer this has happened to or fallen victim to Mark Andronicos LIES!!!
There have been many problems with Aqua, After spending 40-45 minutes with Curtis the BBQ guy explaining what we wanted and didn't want he called us the following Saturday and asked me "What is it you folks bought again? Did you want a palapa with that? As of this posting we are still waiting for our BBQ.
The tile lady Teresa had two answers to our questions "I don't know and that's not my department". After she sensed was our frustration she confessed to "not really being a tile expert Aqua felt bad for her after the restaurant she worked at for 23 years had closed and offered her a job".
We asked her about upgrading our pool finish color and some pricing, she returned after talking with Sam (Project Manager) and stated that we would only get a discount if we spent another $5,000. Another shining example of Aquas customer service.
The landscaper from Aqua came to my home to survey for a bid for landscaping. After 2 weeks he called me and said if you just come in and pay $650.00 for the plans and sign a contract I can give this to Heidi. Saving me time and then I can give you a bid. When I told him NO, I don't do business that way he got very nervous. I asked him how can I sign a contract and not know how much it's for? I told him I needed a bid first and if I accepted it, then I would come in and pay for plans and sign a contract. All the explaination he gave me was he was very busy and this would save some time. This I am reporting to the Contractors Licensing Board.
From the rudeness, incompetence and flat out lies that have been told by Aqua the final straw was when they turned my hot water off on Friday afternoon and didn't show up to light the water heater until Saturday 4:30pm. 24 hours later. And no one called me back. No one at Aqua has attempted to rectify this mess, all I get is, were sorry your unhappy. No one at Aqua cares about us or is looking out for our best interest only their own. And to make things worse they are building a new facility just outside of Manteca, They have made many bad neighbors now and plenty more before I'm done, I'm going to the local papers next.
If anyone out there is even thinking of hiring Aqua pools think again, if you have time to babysit and handhold and don't forget taking a pool building class yourself you might do okay. If your like me and you assumed that your hiring a (so called) professional pool builder that everything would be taken care of and done right because you paid for the service. I was WRONG, SO WRONG.
I have spoken to many people about Aqua and have heard many, many bad things from customers to professional contractors to people who thought about hiring them and changed their minds and are very glad they did. I wish we had. This has been ongoing since Mid-June here we are in September and very unhappy. We still have to get through the plaster phase. God help us, because Aqua won't.
