Charles C. Widdis, Inc. Advertised standard features of one of their new homes being built (255 Liberty Street, Long Branch, NJ) on their website. This included the feature of 2-zone heating and air conditioning. This company directed us to this website at the beginning and during our consideration of purchasing said home for us to gain further information about the home.
At our pre-closing walk through on April 19, we inquired with Dottie Pellbring (Mr. Widdis' daughter and acting realtor) as to where the upstairs (second) thermastat was located and how the 2-zone system worked. She searched the house for it, but couldn't find it and told us she would make a note of it and ask her father at the closing how it worked. At said closing, immediately following the walk-through, Mr. Widdis indicated he would show us how it worked and where the second thermostat was located.
Since this date, we have had countless correspondence with Mr. Widdis and his assistants concerning the lack of a second zone heating and air conditioning-which was clearly advertised on his website (we have copies of the website prior to the company changing it in early August after we kept pointing it out to them). Mr. Widdis has not budged to hold up to their advertisement of the home, which was clearly a selling point for us to purchase the home.
We have thus had to endure extreme temperatures upstairs with a toddler and newborn (extremely cold in the winter, and extremely hot in the summer). We also have correspondence from Dottie Pellbring and Mr. Widdis admitting their misrepresentation of the home. We want what was advertised, and what we relied on when deciding to buy the house.
