I got involved with HouseValues.com in March. The leads I got were "nosey neighbors, " unrealistic sellers, and Sellers who were checking on their agents.
I did the e-mail and snail mail follow-ups to these leads, make appointments (when they were open to that) - with limited - if any results.
After six months of nothing - I called to cancel my contract.
HouseValues: No problem - pay $200/month for your remaining 6 months and you can cancel.
Needless to say, I just kept paying, doing the comps as they came in and following up until March when my contract was to expire. No - I was on "month to month."
I got billed on my credit card for April. I e-mailed HouseValues and they said I would have to call to cancel.
I did. There was no record made of the call. I got billed again.
As far as I am concerned - I got hooked into a scam that took me for $200/month for 12 months for BOGUS leads - and then they "got me" for an additional 3 months - because their "system" would not release me.
I want to spread the word about this and get any other agents who have been "scammed" by HouseValues - to get together, get ALL of our money back - and make the CONSUMERS aware.
I resent the fact that HouseValues is so ensconced with NAR - that they are on their e-mails as advertisers.
E-Mail me or call me. I lost about $3000 to this but my TIME is the most valuable part of MY life. And doing worthless comps and NOW having to fight with these idiots about what is right. THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.
If you know a realtor who is involved in this scheme - forward this.
Just think, HouseValues.com and JustListed.com is advertising FREE services to Buyers and Sellers. OUR SERVICES!!! Our experise! OUR Money that we are paying for MLS for CMAs!!!
But they are "sucking up" out time and energy - and taking OUR money - a "tri-fecta, a grand slam".
And sitting back - making more than MILLIONS!
