4/18/04 I bought a "Big Red" Troy Built riding lawn mower. Used it one season and started using
it this season when the mowing deck flew apart.
I took the tractor back to the store I bought it
after the warranty (I bought an extended warranty) and they tried to say it was customer abuse and they had no intenion of fixing the mower. Meanwhile I learn this is not a TROY BUILT, but it is a MTD.
Today they called and said that they would fix the mower for $1,000. This is outrageous and when I contacted the store manager, he was very argumentive and was very
rude. He argued with me for an hour. I had taken the mower and left it at the store on saturday may 21, and requested my money back. I paid $3,000 for this mower and am very upset and I want my money back. I no longer want the mower fixed, as I have been treated like dirt, and did not know that the mower was a MTD.
I have lived here at my residence for over 20 years and I can assure you that the mower was not abused. The roller came off and went under the deck and tore the deck up. The blades keep falling off and is unsafe. My craftsman that I had before really outlasted this piece of junk. It lasted 10 years!!!
I feel that the warranty that they sold me is not worth the paper that it is written on and will be contacting a lawyer as well as the media about this terrible experience that I have had with Lowes, if I am not refunded my money. The manger said that he would give us 2,000.00 refund plus the warranty amount which was around 300.00, but this is not enough. I have grass growing and no way to cut it.
I am thinking of putting a sign in my yard advertising the defective product. This will be very damaging to Lowe's business as I own a sign business and have a lot of traffic that will see it. As well as contacting the local news channel. I look forward to hearing from you on this matter, with a favorable result for me. I want Lowes to do the right thing and refund my money
