Can I take my handyman to small court?

Hi,

I bought a property 2 and half years ago and had it remodeled. Handyman who did remodeling messed up a lot of things. When I asked him to fix these things he refused. Last night one of the kitchen cabinets fell down and some glassware broke. I got very scared. What should I do? Is there is a law which protect me? Can I take my handyman to the small court?
