The Magic Jack works okay. It obviously isn't as great as having a genuine phone line, but its a moderate alternative. We use the magic jack as a 2nd line in order to cut down on cell phone minutes, so it is not our main phone. As a supplementary phone, we are satisfied with it. The clarity is okay at times and not at other times. It seems to be more clear when I am making the call rather than when I am receiving a call. It has never dropped a call, but sometimes I have to hang up and redial a number once the clarity starts getting shaky. I couldn't imagine relying on it as my only phone service, but like I said, as an additional phone, it works for us.
