PepsiCo complaints: where to go for a product problem, a promotion or a recall
This page was checked on 2026-10-15. PepsiCo's consumer contact hub (contact.pepsico.com) says to 'Select the brand you would like to contact' and lists brand pages for Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Frito-Lay, Quaker and others. The PepsiCo page lists these topics: product issue or quality complaint, share your story or compliment, send us a suggestion, question about a promotion, question about an online order, careers, find a product and FAQs; the Pepsi page also lists 'Sponsorship and donations'. The 'Contact PepsiCo' page shows 'Email us' and 'Talk with us 1-800-433-2652', with hours of 'M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm EST' (the Pepsi page says 'M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm ET').
- Product problem (flat, damaged, off-taste or expired item): use the product-issue form on the brand's contact page. The contact form (contact.pepsico.com/pepsico/contact-us) asks for the product name, flavor and size, the 12-digit barcode, manufacture code, best taste date, can code and lid code, and invites an upload of 'photos of the product packaging'; it also asks for date purchased, date opened, store name, name, email and country.
- Promotion or contest: use the 'Question about a promotion' topic on the same hub and keep the official rules and your entry confirmation.
- Recalled Quaker products: see the recall section below and the FDA notices; the Quaker recall line printed in those notices is 1-800-492-9322.
- Tropicana and Naked juices: the FY2025 10-K refers to 'the sale of Tropicana, Naked and other select juice brands (Juice Transaction)' and to brands 'owned by Tropicana Beverages Group (TBG)', with PepsiCo acting as a distributor for some customers; a complaint about those juice brands may belong with TBG rather than PepsiCo, Inc.
- Prize messages: older archive entries describe emails, texts and letters that claim a 'Pepsi' prize and ask for fees or personal details. The FTC's guidance says: 'If you have to pay to get your prize, it's a scam. Real prizes are free.' No PepsiCo-published notice on prize fraud was found in the sources checked on 2026-10-15. PepsiCo's contact hub is the place to ask about a message; reports can be filed with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
Pepsi drinks are also made and delivered by independent bottlers in some areas, so a store, truck or vending-machine problem may involve a local bottler or the retailer rather than PepsiCo, Inc. itself.
Who PepsiCo is: legal entity, brands and size
PepsiCo, Inc. is a North Carolina corporation with its principal offices at 700 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase, New York 10577, telephone (914) 253-2000, according to its Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 27, 2025 (filed February 3, 2026) and the SEC company record. The 10-K says the company 'was incorporated in Delaware in 1919 and reincorporated in North Carolina in 1986' and describes itself as 'a leading global beverage and convenient food company' with brands including Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Quaker and SodaStream, serving consumers 'in more than 200 countries and territories'. It makes and sells products 'through our operations, authorized bottlers, contract manufacturers and other third parties'.
The filing groups U.S. and Canadian operations into PepsiCo Foods North America and PepsiCo Beverages North America. The 10-K defines PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA) as 'all of our convenient food businesses in the United States and Canada'. Frito-Lay, Inc. and Frito-Lay North America, Inc. appear in the 10-K as entities named with PepsiCo, Inc. in the lawsuits described below.
Product recall: Quaker granola bars and cereals (December 2023 to January 2024)
On December 15, 2023 The Quaker Oats Company announced a recall of specific granola bars and granola cereals 'because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella'. The FDA-published notice says the products were sold in the 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and Saipan, that consumers 'should check their pantries ... and dispose of them', and that 'To date, Quaker has received no confirmed reports of illness related to the products covered by this recall.' The FDA-published update dated January 31, 2024 reprints a January 11, 2024 announcement of 'an expansion of the December 15, 2023, recall to include additional cereals, bars and snacks', and adds a further product on January 31. The December notice points to www.quakergranolarecall.com for 'additional information or product reimbursement'; the update points to www.QuakerRecallUSA.com and says 'Consumers can scan the SmartLabel QR code on the product package to determine if it has been recalled.' The notices list affected products by UPC and 'Best Before' date, so a package must be checked against the lists.
PepsiCo's 10-K for fiscal 2025 refers to this event as the 'Quaker Recall' and to a 'voluntary recall of certain bars and cereals' in its financial discussion. The 10-K says that 'In 2024, we recorded a pre-tax charge of $ 187 million' associated with the Quaker Recall (company-reported). The recall notices are specific to the products listed; they do not cover every product sold under the PepsiCo name.

Legal proceedings disclosed in PepsiCo's 10-K
Item 3 of the fiscal 2025 Form 10-K, updated by the company's 2026 quarterly reports, describes four government lawsuits over plastic pollution, which allege public nuisance and deceptive practices. The 10-K says the complaints 'do not specify the amount of damages sought' and that the company believes it has 'strong defenses'.
- New York Attorney General (filed November 15, 2023): the Erie County court granted PepsiCo's motion to dismiss in its entirety on November 8, 2024; the plaintiff gave notice of appeal on December 9, 2024 and filed its appellate brief on January 6, 2026.
- City of Baltimore (filed June 20, 2024): on July 21, 2025 the court dismissed with prejudice all claims except public nuisance; the Q3 2026 10-Q (quarter ended September 5, 2026) says the court dismissed the remaining public nuisance claim on July 21, 2026, the plaintiffs filed a notice of appeal as to all claims on August 18, 2026, and the appeal is proceeding before the Appellate Court of Maryland.
- Los Angeles County (filed October 29, 2024): Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC was dismissed from the suit on May 21, 2025.

The filing also states that the company and its subsidiaries are party to other litigation, claims and regulatory proceedings and that management believes the outcome will not have a material adverse effect. These are allegations in pending matters, not findings of wrongdoing.
