MGC Mortgage servicing problems: who to contact and how to escalate (checked October 11, 2026)
MGC Mortgage, Inc. is a mortgage servicer. Its About Us page says that as a servicer it "receives and applies periodic loan payments," "manages escrow accounts and pays property taxes, insurance premiums, and other expenses as required," and "handles and resolves collections and default-related issues." The company that owns the loan (the investor) can be a different business, so a question about who holds the note is separate from a question about how payments, escrow or a default were handled.
1. Call the number the company publishes. The About Us page says: "If you do not find the information you need, please call us at 1.877.471.7888." The same number appears on the company's April 2025 privacy notice. An older number, (866) 973-3399, appears in the company's online privacy policy (last modified October 26, 2009) and on its BBB profile. The address [email protected] is published in the company's California privacy policy for privacy requests, not for servicing disputes.
2. Put the problem in writing and keep proof. The CFPB says a Qualified Written Request, Notice of Error or Request for Information lets you ask for information or assert an error; it "may be a different address than where you send your payments," the servicer "must generally confirm it received your letter within five business days and respond with an answer within 30 business days," and it "is not allowed to charge a fee for responding." In the MGC site pages opened on 2026-10-11 (About Us, Licensing, Disclosures, Online Privacy, CPRA policy, privacy notice) no separate address for error notices was identified, so use the address on your own statement or servicing-transfer notice. The site's "Click here to access your account" button opens through a script and its destination was not opened.
3. If your loan was just transferred to MGC. The CFPB page on servicing transfers says: "for 60 days from the date your loan servicing transfers, your new servicer cannot charge you a late fee or treat the payment as late if you sent it to your previous servicer on time or within the applicable grace period." It also suggests sending both the old and the new servicer a notice of error or information request if, for example, "You never received a notice of transfer" or "You think your payments are not being applied correctly."
4. Complain to the CFPB if the servicer does not fix it. The CFPB complaint form lists mortgages among the products it takes; it says "If you don't see the company, provide complete contact information for the company." Attach the account statements and letters (up to 50 pages). The CFPB's database had no company entry for MGC Mortgage in the lookups made on 2026-10-11 (see the complaint-record section).
5. Fees. The company's Disclosures page publishes a fee schedule for borrowers with property in New York, dated 04/12/11 (for example, late charge 2.00%, "Quick Payment Fees (Pay by Phone)" $9.50, "Payoff Statement Fee None charged"). It is a 2011 New York schedule; check your own loan documents and current statements for the fees that apply to your loan.
Regulator and licensing records: what was checked and what was not (October 11, 2026)
No federal or state regulator order, consent order or enforcement action naming MGC Mortgage, Inc. was identified in the sources checked on 2026-10-11: the CFPB complaint database's company-name lookup (no entry for MGC), the BBB profile (no government-action notice), Justia and CourtListener docket and opinion searches, and general web searches for consent orders and cease-and-desist orders from state banking regulators. This is a scoped finding, not proof that none exists.
The company's Licensing page gives "Legal Name: MGC Mortgage, Inc.," "NMLS ID: 204988" and "Address: 7195 Dallas Parkway, Plano, TX 75024" and points consumers to NMLS Consumer Access. The NMLS Consumer Access record for ID 204988 sits behind a character test that was not completed, so its state licence list and any regulatory-action disclosures were not reviewed; look the company up there yourself with that ID before relying on any licence statement.
MGC Mortgage, Inc.: who it is and how it relates to Beal Bank, LNV and Dovenmuehle
MGC Mortgage, Inc. says it is "headquartered in Plano, Texas (near Dallas)" and "specializes in servicing single-family home loans." A Fiserv press release dated October 12, 2009 describes "Dallas-based MGC Mortgage, Inc." as selecting Fiserv's Loan Servicing Platform and says MGC's "mortgage loan servicing portfolio is growing through portfolio acquisitions"; it names Larry Walker as MGC President at that date. The company's website pages that were opened carry a 2011 fee schedule and a 2009 online privacy policy, alongside an April 2025 privacy notice and a California privacy policy.
Ownership and affiliates. In the docket of Giordano v. MGC Mortgage, Inc. (D.N.J. No. 2:21-cv-18191), entry 14 of November 19, 2021 is a "Corporate Disclosure Statement by LNV CORPORATION, MGC MORTGAGE, INC identifying BEAL BANK as Corporate Parent." The company's April 2025 privacy notice says its affiliates include "companies with a 'Beal' name, XD Bank, Beal Bank USA, or CLMG Corp."
Loans it services. Court opinions describe MGC as the servicer of loans owned by other entities. For example, an Oregon federal opinion (LNV Corp. v. Fauley, 2016) refers to "LNV's loan servicer, MGC Mortgage, Inc."; an Ohio appellate opinion in Beal Bank S.S.B. v. Elzy (2014) refers to testimony about "its master servicer, MGC Mortgage, Inc." These are courts' descriptions of particular loans, not statements about every loan MGC services.
Dovenmuehle. A New York appellate opinion (LNV Corp. v. Almberg, February 18, 2026) describes Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. as "the alleged subservicer for MGC Mortgage, Inc., the purported authorized loan servicer for the plaintiff" (LNV), and the 2021 New Jersey docket lists Dovenmuehle as a co-defendant with LNV and MGC.
MGC Mortgage complaints: our archive, BBB, CFPB and ComplaintsBoard as displayed on October 11, 2026
This site. 24 approved complaints in this archive name MGC Mortgage as the subject: 10 dated 2008, 9 dated 2009, 2 each in 2010, 2011 and 2012. They are old and are the writers' own accounts, not findings. Keyword-match counts across those 24 posts are shown under complaint themes (for example, 14 of the 24 match words for a loan sold or transferred to MGC from another servicer).
BBB. The BBB profile for MGC Mortgage, Inc., Plano, TX, shows, as displayed on 2026-10-11: not BBB Accredited, rating A+, BBB file opened 2008-07-17 (raw page data), "2 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "0 complaints filed in the last 12 months," and one customer review (1 out of 5 stars, dated 10/22/2024). The profile shows a reply from MGC Mortgage, Inc. dated 12/05/2024: "Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns regarding your account. CFPB. Lookups in the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database on 2026-10-11 found no company entry for MGC Mortgage under the names 'MGC', 'MGC Mortgage', 'MGC Mortgage, Inc.' and 'MGC MORTGAGE, INC.', and a query on the exact name returned 0 complaints. Complaints about a loan serviced by MGC may be filed under another company's name (for example a subservicer), which these lookups do not cover. The database does list a company entry named "Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc."; it covers all of that servicer's clients, is not attributed to MGC and is not counted on this page.
ComplaintsBoard. The ComplaintsBoard page for MGC Mortgage displays "0 reviews and 70 complaints." These are user posts that ComplaintsBoard does not verify.
These sources are kept separate and are not added together; each counts different things over different periods.
MGC Mortgage lawsuits: federal dockets and opinions (checked October 11, 2026)
Justia's party-name search for "MGC Mortgage" listed federal dockets over several result pages on 2026-10-11 (the search page shows no total), filed between November 2008 (Pipkin v. Homecomings Financial, N.D. Miss.) and August 2026. They are mostly suits by individual borrowers in many states; many name MGC together with LNV Corporation, LPP Mortgage Ltd. or Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc., and some matches are cases where MGC is a counter-defendant or a party only by name search. A docket listing shows that a claim was filed, not that it succeeded. The cases below were opened and are stated one by one, not totalled.
Examples opened for this page (dockets read on 2026-10-11):
- Giordano v. MGC Mortgage, Inc. (D.N.J. 2:15-cv-04399): a borrower's RESPA claim over a request for information and qualified written request. The court dismissed the complaint without prejudice on November 3, 2015, granted MGC's second motion to dismiss on February 16, 2016 (160 F. Supp. 3d 778, damages held insufficient, one further amendment allowed), and the docket records a settlement conference on July 13, 2016 ("Case settled") and an order dismissing the case as settled, without prejudice, the same day. Settlement terms are not on the docket.
- Wilson v. LNV Corporation (E.D.N.C. 7:14-cv-00145; 4th Cir. No. 15-1304): claims listed under the Fair Debt Collection Act (15 U.S.C. 1692) against LNV Corporation, MGC Mortgage, Dovenmuehle and a law firm. On February 23, 2015 the court granted the defendants' motions to dismiss (for failure to state a claim and for lack of jurisdiction) and entered judgment; the Fourth Circuit affirmed by unpublished per curiam opinion on June 29, 2015.
- Palmer v. MGC Mortgage, Inc. (E.D. Pa. 2:13-cv-01734): a 2013 suit listing 15 U.S.C. 1692; a December 10, 2013 ruling found the allegations sufficient to state a claim; CourtListener shows the case terminated February 25, 2014 and the Federal Judicial Center database records the disposition as "Settled." Docket entries from December 2025 to October 2026 on the closed case are described in the case row below.
- Gelinas v. MGC Mortgage, Inc. (M.D. Fla. 8:17-cv-03040): a telephone-equipment-restrictions claim (coded 47 U.S.C. 227 in the FJC database). The plaintiff filed a notice of settlement on May 3, 2018; the court dismissed without prejudice on May 10, 2018 and, after a stipulation of dismissal, dismissed with prejudice on June 27, 2018. Terms are not on the docket.
- Giordano v. MGC Mortgage, Inc. et al. (D.N.J. 2:21-cv-18191): FDCPA suit against MGC, LNV and Dovenmuehle. LNV and MGC answered on November 19, 2021; a conference entry of August 15, 2022 reads "Settled"; on November 28, 2022 the court dismissed the matter with prejudice under Rule 41(a)(2).
- Y'Dnew v. LNV Corporation et al. (E.D. Pa. 2:24-cv-05903): a pro se suit filed November 1, 2024 naming LNV, MGC Mortgage and others (cause listed: RESPA); the court dismissed it for failure to state a claim with leave to amend and, on January 6, 2025, dismissed it with prejudice for failure to prosecute.
- Palmer v. LNV Corporation et al. (E.D. Pa. 2:26-cv-02466): a pro se FDCPA suit filed April 13, 2026 naming MGC, LNV, Dovenmuehle, Beal Bank SSB and others; still pending in the listing. MGC, LNV and Beal Bank SSB moved to dismiss on May 20, 2026 (no ruling on that motion appears in the listing); the court denied the plaintiff's TRO motion (June 25) and preliminary-injunction motion (September 23). On October 7, 2026 the Third Circuit denied the plaintiff's mandamus petition (No. 26-3173, not precedential).
In foreclosure actions brought by LNV, courts sometimes address the servicer's role: in LNV Corp. v. Almberg (N.Y. App. Div., February 18, 2026) the court denied LNV summary judgment because the plaintiff "failed to establish that RPAPL 1304 notices were sent by the 'lender, assignee or mortgage loan servicer'"; MGC was not a party to that case.
Is MGC Mortgage Legitimate?
MGC Mortgage, Inc. publishes its legal name, NMLS ID 204988 and a Plano, Texas address on its own Licensing page, describes itself as a servicer of single-family home loans, and has a BBB profile (rating A+, not accredited, file opened 2008-07-17). A 2009 Fiserv press release and court opinions from 2014 to 2026 describe MGC as a loan servicer, and a 2021 corporate disclosure statement identifies Beal Bank as its corporate parent. The company is also named in federal dockets by borrowers (multiple result pages in a Justia party search on 2026-10-11, with different outcomes, listed in the litigation section), and this archive holds 24 complaints from 2008 to 2012 that allege payment, escrow and communication problems after loans were transferred to it; these are allegations, not findings.
What this page could not confirm: the NMLS licence list for ID 204988 (character test not completed), any current state-by-state licence status, and the destination of the site's account-access button. To check a licence, use NMLS Consumer Access with the ID above; to check who owns your loan, use your servicing-transfer notice and recorded loan documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is MGC Mortgage and why is it collecting my mortgage payment?
MGC Mortgage, Inc. says it "specializes in servicing single-family home loans" and, as a servicer, "receives and applies periodic loan payments" and manages escrow. Loans reach it by transfer from another servicer or investor, so the lender on your original paperwork may be a different business; your transfer notice should state the date MGC began accepting payments.
How do I contact MGC Mortgage?
The company's About Us page says to call 1.877.471.7888; the same number is on its April 2025 privacy notice. The company's online privacy policy (last modified October 26, 2009) and its BBB profile list (866) 973-3399. For privacy requests the California privacy policy (last updated December 31, 2022) lists 877-879-3650 and [email protected].
How do I dispute an error or request information from MGC Mortgage?
The CFPB says you can send your servicer a Qualified Written Request, Notice of Error or Request for Information; it may need to go to a different address than payments, the servicer "must generally confirm it received your letter within five business days and respond with an answer within 30 business days," and it may not charge a fee for responding. No separate error-notice address was found in the MGC site pages opened on 2026-10-11, so use the address on your statement or transfer notice.
What protections apply if my loan was just transferred to MGC?
The CFPB says that "for 60 days from the date your loan servicing transfers, your new servicer cannot charge you a late fee or treat the payment as late if you sent it to your previous servicer on time or within the applicable grace period." It also advises checking each statement to confirm payments are credited accurately.
Is MGC Mortgage connected to Beal Bank, LNV Corporation or Dovenmuehle?
A corporate disclosure statement filed November 19, 2021 by LNV Corporation and MGC Mortgage, Inc. in D.N.J. No. 2:21-cv-18191 identifies Beal Bank as corporate parent, and MGC's April 2025 privacy notice lists affiliates with a "Beal" name, XD Bank, Beal Bank USA and CLMG Corp. Courts have described MGC as LNV's loan servicer on particular loans, and a 2026 New York opinion calls Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. "the alleged subservicer for MGC Mortgage, Inc."
Has MGC Mortgage been sued?
Federal dockets name MGC Mortgage in suits filed between November 2008 and August 2026, mostly by individual borrowers (Justia's party search on 2026-10-11 spans several result pages). Each is an allegation by the plaintiff, and outcomes differ. Of the cases opened for this page, the dockets show: Giordano (D.N.J. 2015) dismissed as settled on July 13, 2016; Giordano (D.N.J. 2021) dismissed with prejudice after a reported settlement on November 28, 2022; Gelinas (M.D. Fla.) dismissed with prejudice on June 27, 2018 after a notice of settlement; Palmer (E.D. Pa. 2013) terminated February 25, 2014 with disposition coded "Settled" by the FJC; Wilson (E.D.N.C.) dismissed on February 23, 2015 and affirmed by the Fourth Circuit on June 29, 2015; Y'Dnew (E.D. Pa. 2024) dismissed with prejudice on January 6, 2025; and Palmer (E.D. Pa. 2026) pending, with a Third Circuit mandamus petition denied on October 7, 2026.
What do BBB and the CFPB show for MGC Mortgage?
As displayed on 2026-10-11, BBB shows a rating of A+, not accredited, 2 complaints in the last 3 years and 0 in the last 12 months, and one 1-star customer review. The CFPB complaint database had no company entry for MGC Mortgage under the names checked, so no CFPB count is given; the figures are from different sources and are not combined.
Where can I check MGC Mortgage's licences?
MGC's Licensing page directs consumers to NMLS Consumer Access and gives "Legal Name: MGC Mortgage, Inc." and "NMLS ID: 204988." The NMLS record was not reviewed for this page because it requires a character test, so licence status in your state should be checked there directly.
What fees does MGC Mortgage list?
The Disclosures page publishes a "FEE SCHEDULE 1st LIEN - NEW YORK (04/12/11)" for borrowers with property in New York, including a 2.00% late charge, $9.50 for pay-by-phone payments and no charge for a payoff statement. It is dated 2011 and is specific to New York; fees for your loan depend on your loan documents and applicable law.
