Coca-Cola complaints: who to contact, prize emails and product problems (checked October 15, 2026)

Product problem (flat, damaged, foreign object). The Coca-Cola Company's Contact Us page lists Consumer Relations at 1-800-GET-COKE (1-800-438-2653) and two online paths, 'I have a question' and 'I have a product quality issue'. The quality form first asks whether you are contacting from the United States, Canada or elsewhere. The company's FAQ tells business customers that fountain services are reached on 800-241-2653 and that retailers and others who serve Coca-Cola in the U.S. or Canada can use CokeSolutions.com and the company's 'bottler finder' to locate the contact information for a local bottler. The quality form asks whether you still have the product, asks you to 'enter the date code from the package' and to select the brand; the form says 'the complete date code is located on the bottom of cans, near the neck or shoulder of bottles, and on the top of cartons and pouches' and gives 'FEB0130XPG12345' as a United States example, so look for that code before you write or call.

Bottler or distributor. Most cans and bottles sold in the United States are produced and delivered by a bottling partner. The 10-K for 2025 says the company reaches consumers 'through our network of independent bottling partners, distributors, wholesalers and retailers as well as our consolidated bottling and distribution operations', so the entity that filled a can may be a different business from The Coca-Cola Company.

Emails, texts or letters saying you won a Coca-Cola prize. The company's FAQ 'Rumors & Misinformation' says it 'has learned of several text messages, emails and letters being sent to people' that 'falsely claim the recipient has either won a sweepstake or a cash prize'. For text messages, the FAQ says they 'direct the recipients to a website that appears to be, but is not, an official site of The Coca-Cola Company'; it lists email subject lines such as 'The Coca-Cola Award Notification' and says some versions include a 'secret pin code' or reference/ticket number and contact information for a Coca-Cola representative. The FTC's consumer advice lists, among its warning signs, people who 'lie and say you won money in a lottery or sweepstakes but have to pay a fee to get it', and says to report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. About 31 posts in this archive (2007-2013) are prize letters of this kind; they are reports about messages that use the Coca-Cola name and are not counted as complaints about the company.

FDA enforcement reports naming Coca-Cola as recalling firm (queried October 15, 2026)

The FDA's food enforcement report data (openFDA) returned 79 records on October 15, 2026 for a recalling-firm name containing 'Coca-Cola'. The records name the parent company, company-owned entities and independent bottlers as separate recalling firms, so the count is not a count for The Coca-Cola Company alone. The most recent record in that list is H-0048-2025: recalling firm 'The Coca-Cola Company' (Georgia), Topo Chico mineral water in 16.9 fl oz bottles, recall initiated May 28, 2025, FDA classification Class II, reason given as 'Pseudomonas in Mineral Water', status 'Completed'. The next most recent entries in the list name Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution LLC (Coca-Cola Original Taste cans, foreign object (plastic), initiated March 6, 2025, Class II) and Coca-Cola Consolidated LLC (Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade cartons containing regular lemonade, initiated September 10, 2024, Class II, record F-0025-2025, status 'Ongoing' as of October 15, 2026); the Great Lakes record F-0664-2025 shows status 'Terminated'. The H-0048-2025 product line reads 'MADE IN MEXICO BY: CIA. TOPO CHICO, S. DE R.L. DE C.V.'. Check the product's lot or UPC against the FDA's recall pages and the bottler's notice;

Who runs Coca-Cola: parent, bottlers and brands

The registrant is The Coca-Cola Company, a Delaware corporation with its worldwide headquarters at One Coca-Cola Plaza, Atlanta, Georgia (10-K for 2025, filed February 20, 2026). The company says it has 200+ brands (company page) and, per the 10-K, in the United States manufactures fountain syrups and sells them to fountain retailers, authorized fountain wholesalers or bottling partners. Brands in the 10-K include Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Minute Maid, Simply, Powerade, Dasani, smartwater, vitaminwater, Topo Chico, fairlife and Costa.

Bottlers are separate operators. The 10-K reports a 2025 gain 'related to the sale of our ownership interest in Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc.', an equity method investee, and a July 2024 sale of part of that interest to Coke Consolidated. Its exhibit index lists 'Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc. (formerly known as Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc.)' as a separate SEC filer (File No. 001-09300), so 'Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc' is the former name of that filer and not of The Coca-Cola Company. Archive posts from 2008-2011 that use the 'Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc' spelling are linked here only as affiliates.

fairlife ransomware event (July 2026). In a Form 8-K dated July 16, 2026 (Item 8.01) the company said that fairlife, LLC, 'a dairy company owned by the Company', identified unauthorized access by a third party to a portion of its systems, including production-related systems, 'in connection with a ransomware event'; that 'product quality and safety have not been impacted'; and that production operations at fairlife in the United States were temporarily suspended. The company's Q2 2026 Form 10-Q describes the event as involving 'the taking of certain data' and says that 'a majority of production operations have resumed'. The filings, as read on October 15, 2026, do not say whose data was taken, and no consumer notice from the company was found in the sources checked.

The reviews tab shows an average of 1.16 out of 5 across 19 customer reviews. BBB notes that displayed complaint text may not represent all complaints. Many other BBB files exist for individual bottlers and are not combined with these figures.

Trustpilot. The profile for www.coca-colacompany.com is unclaimed and shows 2 reviews (3.8) with Trustpilot's notice that the company has no history of asking for reviews; two reviews are not representative.

My Coke Rewards. Thirteen of the archived posts below concern the My Coke Rewards points program (codes not accepted, points removed or miscounted, rewards not delivered). On October 15, 2026 the domain mycokerewards.com did not resolve from the machine used for this check, and no current company page describing the program was found in the pages opened; whether and when the program ended was not verified here.

Archive on this site. usacomplaints.com holds 20 approved posts linked to Coca-Cola as the subject (written 2006-2012) and 9 more that name a bottler, an employer location, a vending machine or a redemption vendor and are linked as affiliates. Six of the subject posts describe product quality (flat or empty cans, torn packs, packaging of a juice) and 13 the rewards program; one concerns a prize promotion. These are unverified accounts, are not combined with BBB or Trustpilot counts, and are not findings about the company. About 31 further archived posts (2007-2013) reproduce prize or lottery letters, a fake car-wrap check offer or a phishing email that use the Coca-Cola name; they are not linked as complaints about the company.

Litigation the company discloses (10-K for 2025)

The company's Item 3 lists three kinds of matters. Tax. A dispute with the IRS over transfer pricing for 2007-2009: the Tax Court issued opinions in November 2020 and November 2023 and entered a decision on August 2, 2024 for additional tax of $2.7 billion; the company paid $6.0 billion including interest in September 2024, appealed to the Eleventh Circuit on October 22, 2024, and says it disagrees with the opinions. The Q2 2026 Form 10-Q (filed July 29, 2026) adds that the Eleventh Circuit heard the case on June 25, 2026; the court's docket (No. 24-13470), checked newest first on October 15, 2026, ends with the oral-argument entries of that date, and no decision appeared on it. Environmental. Government plaintiffs in Baltimore (June 2024), Los Angeles County (October 2024) and the U.S. Virgin Islands (April 2025) sued the company and others over plastic packaging; the 10-K says the company believes it has strong defenses, that the Baltimore court dismissed all claims except public nuisance on July 21, 2025 (the Q2 2026 10-Q adds that on July 23, 2026 the court dismissed the remaining public nuisance claim), and that the Los Angeles motion to dismiss was denied on September 23, 2025. Aqua-Chem. Insurance-coverage litigation concerning asbestos claims against a former subsidiary sold in 1981. None of these is a consumer product complaint. The 10-K's risk factors state that the company is party to litigation including advertising, product-claim and labeling matters.

Is Coca-Cola Legitimate?

The Coca-Cola Company is an SEC registrant (Delaware; NYSE: KO) with a published headquarters at One Coca-Cola Plaza, Atlanta, Georgia and a Form 10-K for 2025 filed on February 20, 2026. Its consumer line, 1-800-GET-COKE, is the same number BBB lists for the headquarters file, which BBB shows as accredited with an A+ rating. The company's FAQ says messages that 'falsely claim the recipient has either won a sweepstake or a cash prize' are not from it; the FTC's advice, separately, lists people who 'lie and say you won money in a lottery or sweepstakes but have to pay a fee to get it' among its warning signs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I report a Coca-Cola product problem?

The company's Contact Us page gives Consumer Relations at 1-800-GET-COKE (1-800-438-2653) and an online 'I have a product quality issue' form that asks whether you are in the United States, Canada or elsewhere. The company's Customer Services FAQ points business customers to CokeSolutions.com and to a 'bottler finder' for the contact information of a local bottler.

I got an email saying I won a Coca-Cola prize. Is it from the company?

The company's FAQ says it has learned of text messages, emails and letters that 'falsely claim the recipient has either won a sweepstake or a cash prize' and and, for text messages, direct recipients to a website that 'appears to be, but is not, an official site' of the company. The FTC lists being told you must pay a fee to collect a lottery or sweepstakes win among its warning signs and says to report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Why are lottery letters on this page not counted as complaints?

About 31 archived posts (2007-2013) reproduce prize letters, a car-wrap check offer or phishing emails that use the Coca-Cola name. They report messages sent to the poster, not service by the company, so they are listed here only as context and are not linked to the profile.

Is the company that makes my can the same as The Coca-Cola Company?

Not necessarily. The 10-K says the company sells through independent bottling partners, distributors and wholesalers as well as its consolidated bottling operations. FDA recall records list the parent, company-owned entities and independent bottlers as separate recalling firms.

Where do I check whether a Coca-Cola product was recalled?

FDA's enforcement report data returned 79 records for a recalling firm named 'Coca-Cola' on October 15, 2026; the newest is H-0048-2025 (Topo Chico, Class II, initiated May 28, 2025). Check the UPC and lot code against the FDA recall pages and the notice of the bottler named on the product.

What does BBB show for Coca-Cola?

BBB's headquarters file for The Coca-Cola Company shows BBB Accredited, an A+ rating, 69 complaints in the last 3 years and 20 in the last 12 months, and 1.16 out of 5 across 19 customer reviews, as displayed on October 15, 2026. Bottlers have their own separate BBB files.

What happened to My Coke Rewards?

Archived posts from 2007-2012 describe codes rejected, points deleted and gifts not received. On October 15, 2026 mycokerewards.com did not resolve and no current company page about the program was found among the pages opened, so its status was not verified.

Is Coca-Cola being sued?

The 10-K for 2025 describes an IRS transfer-pricing tax case on appeal to the Eleventh Circuit (argued June 25, 2026 per the later 10-Q), government plastic-packaging suits in Baltimore, Los Angeles County and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Aqua-Chem insurance litigation. The Q2 2026 10-Q says the Eleventh Circuit heard the tax appeal on June 25, 2026 and that the Baltimore court dismissed the remaining public nuisance claim on July 23, 2026; whether the Baltimore plaintiff appealed was not checked. These are the company's disclosures; the plastic-packaging claims are allegations that the company says it will defend.
