Coca Cola
Coca cola is bad to its employees

Coca Cola takes advantage of its employees. The company forces its employees to work not only every holiday, but several weeks of their days off adjoining. This causes the employees to go for consecutive weeks without a day off every time there is a holiday.

Coca Cola forces employees to work between 10 and 15 hours a day. The employee is not allowed to complete his shift until all the "work is done". This work load and the time needed to complete it is given no discression. The company continues to claim that the shifts are only 8 hours, even though no employee is able to complete his work in the 8 hours.

Coca Cola only pays holiday pay for eight hours. If you work 15 hours on July 4th, you will only get holiday pay for 8 of those hours. (Don't forget you must work the 3 weekends before and after that holiday).

Coca Cola will not upgrade you from training pay to regular pay (a few dimes an hour difference) unless you call HR and go through a complaint process. Nor will they send you a benefits package until you bring it to their attention.

Pay is low. Under $10/hour.

Benefits are worse. The PPO discriminates employees with pre-existing conditions. The HMO has outrageous copays, and will not cover special treatments for major illnesses. Premiums for this undercoverage is high, at $85/week. This amount is taken out on the 5th week of the month (occuring every other month) as well. Why is insurance higher every other month?

Don't think about taking a break or a lunch (even though you've been on the job for 15 hours). You thought it was a federal law to give 15 minute breaks every 4 hours and a 30 minute lunch? Although Coca Cola says they allow this, if you are caught you will get in trouble, even if it is just stopping at the drive thru and eating in the car on your way to your next account. And you will be off the clock, if you want to risk the tongue lashing.

Coca Cola says it pays mileage, but they will not allow employees to count mileage from the plant to the first account, or from the last account back to the plant (even if your accounts are located out-of-town)

Coca Cola requires its employees to telephone in orders and clock in from accounts, but will not provide a phone to do so. Try finding a pay phone these days! Or spend $80/month on a cell phone so you can do your job.

Coca Cola provides its employees with substandard equipment that seldom works, forcing the merchandiser to exchange his palm several times a day, extending his hours that much more.

Coca Cola requires its employees to be at the account at certain times, but no work can be done until the truck comes in with the shipment. When your truck is consistently hours late, no adjustment is made to your accounts or your door times, forcing the employee to sit for hours and wait, further extending the day. But when you are late to the proceeding account you will be in trouble.

Coca Cola requires its employees to call in when things have gone wrong to account for delays, but if you call in too many things gone wrong, you competency is called into question.

If your looking for a job, try Pepsi. It can't be worse!
