Safe Harbor Interlock
J & R Auto Hidden Fees, Charge to call customer service with emergency situation, customer service unwilling to assist, incomplete legal documentation

From the very beginning Safe harbor has been a nightmare. From the dirty autoshop that serves their customers, to the rude employees on the phone and at the auto shop. The guy signing me up for theinterlock system just had me sign a device attatched to the computer before even telling me what I am signing for. Then he has trouble with his computer in which he had to call up customer service and had to have them assist him through the process. Completely wasting my time. I should have known then that I should back out now and find a different company to go with, but i had already gone through so much and wasted so much time and had made arrangements for my new car (in which legally i could not drive until the interlock was intalled, and i provide MVD with proof of the intallation) to be delivered to the shop and then have later picked up and taken back to the dealership after the installation was complete. Then all I had to do was go to MVD show proof of the installation and get my driver's license reinstated. When I provide the documents that the installers had given me as proof of installation to MVD, they then told me that they had not in fact given me the document neccessary to reinstate my license. When i call Safe Harbor to see what the problem was... They said that the Arizona MVD was wrong and that just for calling their customer service line that i would be charged a 25 dollar fee. So after going back and forth MVD blaming Safe Harbor and Safe Harbor blaming MVD; then finally the correct documentation was faxed to MVD upon a supervisors approval they then finally, after more time wasted, reinstated my drivers license. Fast forward nearly 2 weeks later. I am driving my new car and I am stopped at a red light. Boom, I get rear-ended. Car is deemed a total loss. I try messaging Safe Harbor via their online site and get no response. So again, I call, and am told that i will be charged another 25 dollar fee for calling customer service. They also told me that i would have to reinstall my device within 72 hours of it being uninstalled and that i would be charged 100 dollars for this service, and if i waited beyond 72 hours i would have to pay a 350 dollar cancellation fee. So here I am today, I have found a new vehicle, been approved for financing and am ready to have them uninstall and reinstall within the next couple days before the insurance comes to claim the totalled vehicle. I have an appointment for wednesday the 21st of November to have it callibrated. I have called and messaged them repeatedly online with no avail. Today is Sunday so they are closed, and i need to know if i need to schedule a seperate appointment to have it uninstalled or if it can be done at this time. I can make a schedule online, however, they charge 5 dollars a day for 6 days prior to an appt being made. So if i make a seperate appointment today on Sunday for wednesday (same day i have my callibration appointment), it will cost me 15 dollars schedule without 6 days notice, and if it's not neccessary to make a seperate appointment and i need to cancel, it will be a 25 dollar appointment cancellation fee. This can't be right. I did make the mistake of drinking and driving... Nearly 5 years ago and i did jail time, i spent thousands of dollars on fines, i lost my job, had my car repossessed. I learned my lesson. Now that i have gotten my credit fixed and my life back on track finally got a car and got the device installed i just want to do what i have to do. I should not have to deal with all these extra fees draining my pocket book, i need to be able to afford to provide for myself. A warning to anyone reading this: Do your research, there are tons of complaints about this company on the internet. Shop around, an extra 10 or 20 bucks a month is MORE than worth it. Ya live and ya learn.=
