Over the past three years, we have enjoyed our Avalon Touring Edition. Over this period, the trunk accuator failed leaving us to open the trunk from the pass through in the back seat. Then the Air Conditioning/heat fan stopped working at the higher speeds. The final clincher was when we were traveling last month and the car began to act funny. We were in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday in Colorado. We finally found a place to pull over and discovered the car had no oil. We put six quarts of oil in it and continued to drive to a larger city. Found out that an oil line had burst shooting oil over the engine compartment, coating the under side and rear of the car. We were told it was a defect, but we were never notified by Toyota of the problem. We have read online of hundreds of other Avalon owners experiencing the same problem. Since our car had over 80K miles on it, it was no longer covered by Toyota. Our engine was ruined and we lost money on the car when we traded it in for a new Honda Accord. Shame on you, Toyota, for not notifying owners when you knew this issue existed. We will never buy another Toyota!!!
