I had fallen behind in my payments and called Auto One to set up payment arrangments. We had agreed to do checks over the phone. There was 2 seperate checks done for different days. I had used a freinds checking account which i had done many times before.
2 days before the second check was suppose to be processed my friend had told me that she had a bank error on her account, that the check Atuo One was going to process would not clear the bank. I instantly called Auto One and told them DO NOT but that check through, that it would not clear. I told the man that i would do a money gram that morning.
The morning of the 24th od September, i went and did the money gram at 8:44 am, and called Auto One and gave them the recieve code, and i thought it was all taken care of.
AUto One then processed the check that i told them they couldnt do cause the funds were not there. They put the check throu on the 27th of Septemeber. 3 days after they had already gotten there money. This in turn, made this checking account that i was using go in the red. My friend had 6 checks bounce because of this.
When i called Auto One back and tried to calming explain what happened, i was hung up on, not once but 4 times. I kept calling back. Finally i got to talk to someone who transfered me to the collection department. The lady that i spoke with there was so rude. She told me, that it was my fault that this happened, that i should have gotten out of bed earlier to take care of this. Then she told me that there was no way she was going to hold my account if that check is returned to them.
I then asked her if it was documneted that i had called to cancel that check, she told me that it was documented that i called, but the check was never cancelled.
Now that i have just paid close to $1000.00 in 2 weeks, the lady tell me that i have no right calling to talk to her, because my account is not overdue! Heck no its not over due, the account should be 2 payments ahead, but its not... They took the money and put it on the principal of the loan. If i had the extra money to put on principal i never would have tried to stop them from putting the check through.
I asked her if Auto One was planning on taking care of all the bounced check fees in my friends account, and the women again hung up on me.
If this is coustomer service that you get from Auto One i would rather not deal with them at all. I am very close to taking my car back to the dealership, and file Bankruptcy on it.
