AA Auto protection (like most aftermarket warranty companies) is a total scam.in my case I advised them that I have a fifth wheel camper and I do a lot of traveling. I said I would like some added coverage incase I have a break down. They said that it would be a great idea and then charged me almost $2200 for the coverage.
14 months later I had a break down and they VOIDED my warranty because I had a fifth wheel trailer hitch in the bed of my truck even though it had absolutely nothing to do with the break down. The "customer service" advised that if I had a fifth wheel hitch in the bed of my truck then it would automatically void my warranty. I thought it was shady since I told them BEFORE I purchased the warranty that I had a Fifth wheel hitch!
They claim all their calls are recorded so when I called them on their mistake they said "Oh well our calls are purged after one year". How convenient since it had been 14 months since the call.By law they are required to refund me a prorated amount, but since my vehicle was never "valid" for their warranty I requested a full refund. Of course they claim that they will look into it since I was driving around for 14 months thinking I was covered and now I am stuck with a large repair bill.
Two months after they voided my warranty I still do not have a refund of any kind. I called their "customer service" to inquire on the status of the refund and they were the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life, total JERKS.By far the worst "customer service" I have ever had in my life! Ultimately they said they have 90 days by law to get me my check and they were going to take the full 90 days. I have already stopped two people from getting ripped off by this company and I hope to stop hundreds more.
In addition to my vehicle being automatically voided, they said it would have been voided anyway because the tires and wheels were not factory, it had aftermarket exhaust, and a drop hitch! People my truck comes from the factory with a drop hitch and is not available with out a drop hitch!!! The other aftermarket items were put on at the dealership by the dealership before I bought it! Basically they are saying we will be happy to take your money even though your vehicle is NOT covered by our warranty.
