Tire center stole my spare tire! - the wrong faulkin tires

Took my moms car in for tires. Hit it off with salesperson so decided to bring my jag in for tires. We live 50 miles from town. Called to order tires, my card was charged 600.00 and they would call when tires came in. I'd had a flat, so drove in on the spare with flat in the trunk. The spare was a full size brand new 100.00 tire.
Got to store and was told no tires ordered for me. That was okay as i had done some shopping and found another brand i would like. I was very specific and had a print out of the tires.
The manager called someone and from the gist he said i had been charged so if i wanted other tires go ahead. We spent several minutes discussing which tire i wanted... She took us (my daughter) in the back where tires are kept and again i specified what i wanted. Now down to the garage where she was told the flat was in trunk and spare was rear shotgun side.
When we came back an hour later my car was out front ready to go. They were closing and kinda hurried us out.
Next morning i look at tires to see a set of 3 year old tires on and the flat still in the trunk!!!
I call immediately and get woman from night before. I tell her those were not the tires i ordered. She got all huffy and asked ' well what tires DID you want"?
Then i told her about my spare missing and flat in trunk. She said she still had my spare and would go asap and set aside.
I tried rectifying with manager. He played dumb or just vanished. Filed a complaint with sears. Was told whole situation was wrong and they would right it. They asked us to once again talk to manager and they would do same.
By the way... All this time i am offering to take tires back to store for obvious reasons. Was told no... We can't leave you with no tires!
The employees continued to dodge us or tried to belittle the incident and could never produce my spare. Claims rep said our claim was justified and they would be in touch.
When trying to resolve issues i said i would be happy to go to another sears store to have correct tires put on as communication with original manager and side kick had resorted to calling me a liar. She must not have remembered my daughter was with me.
When i was asked to submit my complaint in writing i did, and included much documentation. But in the written report i stated that because of the lengthy process. Accusations of lies, stealing my tire, etc., that i would prefer the charge removed from my card and we would buy tires elsewhere.
Got a letter a few days later that read, CLAIM DENIED AND CASE CLOSED!
What would be my next move? Hire an attorney... Sue sears for stolen property? Would really like to hear from sears as to how this decision was reached. Tires are still on car... But car has not been driven and is covered under a carport.
So what do you say sears? Want a chance to redeem yourself? I feel you should at least reimburse me for the tire you took... That'd be a start, right?
