Town & Country Auto Transport is a company you should NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH. These people are nothing but liars and thieves. They are currently under investigation by American Express and the Ft. Lauderdale police for their illegal and criminal activities.
When you contact T & C, if you try to set up a move, they will ask for your credit card information. Do not give them this information. If you should change your mind, they *WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD*. They claim that by contacting them, you are initiating a move and that if you cancel they have a right to charge you a $200 non-refundable deposit.
This is outright fraud. They can not produce anything that you signed nor can they produce anything that you said that you agreed to any charges. These slime-bags claim that by posting the following on their website they are entitled to do this:
"If there has been a change in plans so what should I do?
Changes are not a problem. Dates and addresses can be changed just by giving us a call. There will usually be no charge for an address change if it is in the same city or adjacent town. Dates can be changed at no cost for up to 30 days after the original reservation date so long as the change is made in advance of the driver coming to pick up your vehicle.
In the event of a cancellation, we will return your deposit except for $200 non-refundable if the cancellation is made after a driver has been booked. All this and more information is listed on your Shipping Order and Terms and Conditions."
They claim that they can charge you a non-refundable deposit based on the above language. From a legal standpoing, there are several problems with this:
A) This language is buried in their website.
B) If they are unable to produce any evidence that you
signed or agreed to anything, any charges are illegal.
C) A website posting is not a contract of any kind, shape
or form.
If you call and complain they will claim that "you initiatedthe move and gave them your information, so therefore they have a right to charge you a non-refundable deposit." Again, THIS IS ILLEGAL WITHOUT A SIGNED CONTRACT!!!

If you have been ripped off by these thieves, contact the
Ft. Lauderdale police and file a criminal complaint. You
should also immediately contact your credit card company
and put the charges in dispute. You can contact the
Ft. Lauderdale police and see if you can get the reports
filed against this company for their illegal activity. Be
sure to turn in this information with your dispute information to the credit card company.
If the credit card companies get enough complaints, they
will also revoke any merchant accounts they have. These
people should be put out of business, pure, plain and simple. Further, they misrepresent the fact that they provide their own trucks. On their website, they make this representation.in a page elsewhere on the site, they then claim that they use contract carriers. The bottom line is, you don't know WHO has your car and you sure as hell won't find out from them.
Eventually, enough complaints will be filed that they
will be forced to shut down or will be forced out of
