Took my Toyota to the dealer for an accident repairs paid by the insurance company, around 3000$ of damage. Repair included some body damage and new tires/rims and other accident related parts.
After they finished their work the mechanic informed me that they changed the oil and a filter, and everything is ready to go.
When I looked at the engine, the filter I put there last time was still there, and in fact they did not change the oil as claimed.
After looking at the tires I contacted them and asked why the tires look used and not the same with what my insurance recommended - same tires I had before. The Service Department reassured me the tires they put on my car were new, and good.
Couple of months later, the tires they put on the car were completely worn out, and it had only been ~ 10 000 miles. I drive to work and back every day and normally tires lasted me for 60 000 miles or more.
I went back to the dealer and they waisted a lot of my time, without correcting a problem. I nearly had an accident because of those bad tires but they still would not fix it.
I took the matter to court and won my case, they paid me for a set of new tires and an alignmet that they did not seem to do right. I also think the tires they put on the car were defective and they knew it. They claimed they checked my alignment but when I took the car to another shop they checked it for me and it was off. The dealer actually did not have an alighment tools and simply subcontracted some shady place in Bronx for 25 bucks to do it. I guess they did not bother, just charged the money.
Other things Toyota of Weschester fixed were not done properly either, after a year or two, many mouldings and a bumper cover started coming off and did not look right (eg. Bent, misaligned).
In this report I am only talking about their mechanical department, not sales.
