JD Byrider seems like a saviour to those of us with credit problems, but beware, they will sell you a piece of junk at a greatly inflated price with extreme interest on top of that. The salesman seems so helpful in 'helping' you to obtain better credit while putting you in a vehicle, when in actuality, they could care less once they get your signature and you drive the crap off the lot.
My mother lives with me, on a fixed income, and I was her co-signer to get a decent running vehicle... Like many others on this site, we were offered a "choice" of only like 2 cars... Chose a '96 Chevy Lumina, and almost from the beginning, it had one expensive problem after another-which ByRider of course throws their hands in the air like the morons that they are and plead innocence to knowing they were selling you a lemon from the start. They will do anything to make the sale... We expected the higher interest rate, and had no problem with that... But we expected to get a car that wasn't a total piece of junk... It is only a 1996 and in less than a year we shelled out well over $1000 in repairs...
The final straw came when we hadn't even had this car a year when we were told by a mechanic that it needed all new injectors and a master cyllanoid-to the tune of about $1100... We couldn't afford to keep throwing money into this car and finally determined we had no other option buy to turn it back to the dealer... Which we did... Well, the problem is now that we are constantly harrassed by an extremely abusive man in collections named Joe Sanchez... Threatening to send us to jail, etc... He even called 2 of our references 2000 miles away-elderly relatives and said that he was going to throw us in jail... Did they want that to happen???
All because we are not returning his harassing phone calls... He has called me at work, attempting to get me in trouble... Despite telling him to not call. I reported him to his manager, David, and it was not very helpful. I feel like this jerk was totally abusive because my mother and I live alone and I seriously doubt he would be like that to some big bruiser who would come down there and kick his butt for the kind of treatment we have had to endure...
The final straw was today when he called me at work, and I was upset enough to come home from work. Not only does Byrider KNOWINGLY sell lemons, they sell them at highly inflated prices and they fully expect to take me to court-THROW ME IN JAIL-as he told my relatives-for a remaining balance of over $6000 on a car that is crap and is only worth maybe $1000 tops with all the problems it has... I hope others will learn from all the info on this website-they are a national company, well versed in how to rip off and then go after people who mistakenly had a little trust in someone trying to HELP them... If I thought there was a way to file against the extreme abusiveness of Joe Sanchez I would... Any ideas?
