The smog tech's took our $60, and within 5min's came back saying the vehicle failed a visual inspection without any valid reason... Sending us on our way making note that no refund will be provided.
Immediately, we found a reputable smog shop where our car passed both the visual and smog tests. Calling for an explanation professionally, wewere hung up on. Calling once more and requesting smog/business licenses... They refused to provide (illegal), and were yelled at threateningly before being hung up a second time.
Researching the company, we found only 1 out of 3 of the smog tech's having valid licenses to perform tests and none of them are certified mechanics. Calling looking for a reputable smog shop, local auto shops refuse to refer anyone to EZSMOG for the same reports from multiple of their customers.
I urge all with the same experience to file a grievance report everywhere you can, most importantly with the bureau of automotive repair, better business bureau, google maps, city search, andconsumer complaints of course.
I can only hope this information saves others from being scammed.
Business and smog tech licenses are as follows:
Sean Cherrigton (owner, expired smog tech) - Business License #032117, Expired Smog Tech License EA143519, valid until 11/30.
Christopher James Smith (smog tech) - Smog Tech License EA145110, valid until 4/30.
Robert Leroy Comer (expired smog tech) - Smog Tech License EA037608, valid until 4/30.
