Poorly trained technicians, misdiagnosed faults

I went to Pep Boys because my battery and my brake light were blinking. I asked them to diagnose the fault and change the oil as well. They informed me it was the alternater, and that the serpentine belt as well as the tensioner needed to be replaced. I authorized the work, and a day later picked up my car, only to find that the battery light and brake light were still blinking! Being that I needed my car for work I felt that I would just bring it back in a week or so. Turns out the car didn't wait that long. My battery had stopped taking a charge so after two tows to this place plus the cost of uneccessary previous repairs it turns out my only problem was a bad battery.

They cost me a considerable amount of money due to a misdiagnosis and a technician who was just trying to fill his hours at my expense! Thanks for robbing me of a much needed 400.00. After all was said and done it cost 565.00 all together, when all I needed in the first place was a battery. The technicians also got oily hand prints all over my cars doors, windows, and steering wheel! They didn't even wipe down the car when they were done, and never test drove it to see if they had actually repaired the vehicle in the first place. I will never go back and recommend everyone else find a different shop as well. Feeling cheated and mad.
