MIdas, Midas Auto Service Experts, Can't trust the Midas touch!

Can't Trust the Midas Touch... I am so pissed off at Midas Wentzville that as a result I am going to take further action against them for what is at this moment inoperable Beetle. I went to Midas on Saturday, June 5 to get a routine Oil change on my New Beetle. I have been there prior with my other vehicles. So I actually thought perhaps the Midas touch could be trusted. I have always dealt with the same mechanic and felt comfortable with the Midas environment up until this point.

Well on this particular Saturday morning, there was what appears to be a New mechanic in town. Who appeared to be young swiftly and eager to shorten the line of customers awaiting patiently for their names to be called to pick up their repaired vehicle, from whatever service they received. Mines on this particular day was a simple routine Oil change..

Oil change gone bad... OK the swift young man finally got my car in. I was static when the swift mechanic got my car in popped the hood and lifted it up. He was moving fast... Approx. 15 minutes later the car was down and the hood was closed. I'd mention replacing my tail light that I discovered was out by my spouse. So they replace the bud and charged me an extra 10.00 dollar for the replacement I was fine with that..

Within the shopping center where Midas is located is several stores, one to Mention is Walmart. My brother spouse and myself jumped out and went to Walmart to grab car freshener and toiletries. Once we return to my Beetle my spouse said look there is antifreeze literally pouring out from up under the car. I looked surprised when my spouse said let's take it right back over to Midas.

We are at Midas. Awaiting in a long line, when a nice worker approach us and said how may I help you. I begin by saying I just left this shop less then 15minutes ago when I came back out to my car and notices an extreme amount of antifreeze pouring out of my vehicle. She said don't worry I will have a mechanic look at it as soon as one become available. I headed towards a seat.

Shortly after the older guy that usually fix on my car said that his mechanic overfilled the reservoir with antifreeze. I'm thinking to myself. OK this could be the case because antifreeze was not pouring out that before i took it to Midas, so maybe it was overfull.

Once we go home from Midas the second time around I did not do anymore driving for that entire day because I had company over where we socialized inside for the remainder of the day.

The next day that's when I discovered oil and antifreeze don't mix. The Next morning which was Sunday, June 6th my spouse and I are looking to move into a house in the real near future. So we have been planning to go house hunting. Sundays is a good day for house hunting because we can catch some open-houses and view plenty on one day.

Convinced that the problem was resolved with Midas and we didn't see any antifreeze dripping we would go to an open house. It did sound a little jumpy when I turn the engine over but it started and we took off to hit the highway going towards the open house. When my spouse smelled a smell.

Sniff sniff we both begin to sniff around while we were driving. Because of the strange smell we begin to smell after being 13 miles into our 35 mile trip to see this open house. I continued to drive because in O'Fallon, Missouri there is always a stinky smell so the smell wasn't that unusual but it usually go away. This smell did not go away for a matter of fact my spouse said to me. I think we need to pull or get off at the next exit to check to see what's up with this awful burning smell..

Lord and behold I finally got of the St Charles Rock Road exit when I pulled over to the nearest Quik trip... My spouse open the hood and then was engulfed in a white cloud of smoke. I bought a flash light to see was there anything burning and all we could smell is OIL mixed with antifreeze. To make a long story short I end up waiting for a tow truck (thank God for Insurance) came an hour later and towed my New Beetle back to Midas where the problem begin.

Today is Thursday June 10 now they are telling me that they can't do any more for free work to my vehicle after admitting that their mechanics must have done something wrong to offer to look over their work. They claimed that the T-ring that connect to my radiator malfunctioned so they were going to replace that part for free. Don't worry Midas is here to put you at ease. Well they called me Wednesday which was yesterday June 9th that my car wont start.
Can't trust the Midas Touch...

I will keep you posted. As I deal with their Midas insurance company. I deserve some answer I deserve some compensation for this inconvenience I am seeking to be compensated by Midas providing me with a rental until they fix or replace my Beetle..
