Speedy Towing is one of the most scummy, corrupt companies that I have ever had to deal with.
Our HOA (Rossmar & Graham) hired these thugs to patrol our neighborhood for cars that they deem to be parked illegally. (any vehichle parked in the street between 2AM and 5AM)
So these creeps have a 'spotter' drive through the neighborhood every morning between those hours and dispatch a tow truck for any car that is parked in the street. I really don't have a problem with that, in fact it's part of our CC&R's.
Our HOA has provided us with 'parking permit's' for visitors/guests. The idea is if you have an overnite guest just put the brightly colored permit in the dash and all is good.
Unfortunately it only works if the towing company plays by the same rules - these neanderthals do not. My Father-in-Law was doing some work on our house and parked in the street. I physically watched him place the permit in the dash. There was NO MISTAKING where it had been placed.
We were surprised to see that his vehichle had been towed the following morning - silly us when we thought that when this was pointed out to Speedy Towing that they would apologize for THEIR MISTAKE and promptly return the vehichle.
Quite the contrary - they were defensive, rude and just downright nasty from the very start of the conversation. We found it quite interesting that without checking they 'knew' exactly where the permit was. They claimed that it was "in the console of the vehichle, not in the dash." Hmmmmmm, how would they know it was even in the vehichle, and when we claimed that two people witnessed it being placed prominently on the dash they asked if we had taken a photo of it???
What a joke!!! When we arrived at the 'yard' where they store the towed vehichles it was like a scene out of Deliverence! A bunch of uneducated rednecks that seemed to be the victims of Mesa, AZ inbreeding. My Father-in-Law was escorted to his vehichle where he was called a liar, verbally assaulted with obcenities and had some fellow named John square off with him and blow cigarette smoke in his face.
John then showed my Father-in-Law where the permit was - It was folded up and sticking partially out of his closed center console. They had obviously jimmied the lock and moved the permit leaving it partially exposed - WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE this company is.
Do not ever use this unethical towing company!!!
