Lied to us to sell a car - 2 weeks later I now have to pay higher payment or return car and lose money

Do not buy you cars from david maus toyota!!! Go to another dealership that will not lie to your face! These people do not care about their customers and will do anything to fill a quota and doe snot care if you have to return the car in 2 weeks becuase of their mistakes!!!

2 weeks ago my wife and I went into David Maus Toyota in Sanford, FL with hopes of trading our 2006 Scion TC for a new car with a lower interest rate.

We arrived at the dealership at 8pm (which I had been chatting with them on their website all day long). They already had my car picked out my credit information and said they were trying to get me the 0% interest all day long.

When we arrived I told them that if they could get us the 0% we would trade in my wifes car too and walk away with 2 NEW 2010 Corollas. They told us to wait and about 45 mins later they came back and told us that they were able to call in a favor but was able to get us the 0% on the cars if we both got one.

We then told them because it was late that we will come back in the morning when everyone has more time and finish the deals. The sales manager them came to us and told us that if we left she could not guarantee that we would be able to get the 0% on the two cars the next day because they had to call in a favor, and if we bought tonight then we were guaranteed the 0%.

So we said ok and did all the paperwork (which was video taped). After we signed the paperwork we then handed over the keys and registrations to one of our old cars. (we only had one with us.) They let us drive both home...

The next afternoon we came back to the dealership with the other car that we traded in and handed over the keys and registration. I then asked the finance guy if everything was good to go, he said yes and handed us the new license plate and then put it on our New car.

Now two week later I get a phone call from the finance guy and he tells me that the second car cannot be approved for the 0% and that we now have 11% interest and our payment is going from 446 to 576. I was in total shock. I asked him if he was kidding and he said no.

He said that I either have to pay the higher payment and interest or bring back the car... I then told him that we were told 0% on both cars, and that we already signed the paperwork transferred registrations and handed over our other car 2 weeks ago. He said that we can have our old car back if we do not want to pay the higher payment.

This was my wife's FIRST brand new car and she already had it customized with almost 500.00 worth of additions. (fog lights, pin stripes, accessories, headlights, ect.) Now we have to return the car and not get a refund for the additions.

I told him that this was not right and that they promised 0% on both cars and that no one ever told us that there is a chance that we would not get that rate. Why would I take a car that was not for sure? He said the best he could do is take 1,000 off the price of the car and stretch my payments by 3 months and it would drop my payment to 538 a month. What kind of offer is that?

I told him this was not my fault and that I was told by the Sales Manager and the Desk manager that they called into the bank and was able to get both cars for 0%. He then apologized and said that was not the correct information. I then told him that I was lied to so I would buy two cars an I am beyond upset. Then he had the nerve to tell me that I was not lied to but a miscommunication.

I then asked him if the desk manager knew he could only guarantee me for one car at 0%, he told me that the desk manager and sales manager knew that information. Then I told them that I was lied to and no miscommunication took place. A miscommunication is when he says the truth and I take it the wrong way, and a lie is when they know the truth and they say something else to sell me an extra car.

I said the only way to make this right is to drop the price of the car so that my payment is the same as the payments I signed for. He said that they would have to drop the price by 5,000 to make that happen and they will not drop the price that low. I was so angry at this point I told them to please have the General Sales manager cal me back.

1 hour later the GM called me back and I expressed my same concerns to him an told him everything that happened. He then admitted fault and apologized but refused to correct the issue and my only options were to return the car or pay the higher payment and he still would not refund the money for the customizations that were done to the car.

I then wrote a letter to TOM BUCK, which is David Mauss Right Hand Man as I was told, and i never heard back from him. So I am now stuck with a high payment or I have o return the car and lose the money that I spent on customizing the car for my wife.

My wife is very upset that she was teased with a new car for 2 weeks and now has to give it back. They had plenty of chances to tell us that we did not have 2 cars at the 0% and that the other ar was going to be a high interest rate even though they already told us everything was ok and set to go.

I also told the GM that the only way to make this right is to drop the price of car and that it is not my issue to fix and that as a business if your lower management screws up this bad you have to take responsibility and do what ever it takes to fix the issue. Not say screw you pay higher or give us the car.

I told him that if he thinks 5,000 is more important than a reputation or customer relations I will return the car and make sure that everyone knows that they care more about money than people.

So tomorrow I am going to return the car and eat the costs of the upgrades.

Do not buy you cars from david maus toyota!!! Go to another dealership that will not lie to your face! These people do not care about their customers and will do anything to fill a quota and doe snot care if you have to return the car in 2 weeks becuase of their mistakes!!!
