I totalled my car so I was in desparate need of a car. I went to this dealership and they were more than pleased to help me (probably because all they saw were dollar signs and they KNEW they would rip me off... Their intent from the beginning was to scam me).
I signed the paperwork, and drove home a really nice 98 Neon. Keep in mind I'm a 20/female. So I was their prime target! Especially since I was there alone! I told them that I woudl put $600 down the next day because I wasn't getting paid until the next day. So they asked if I could write a check instead, just in case. So I wrote the check and they took the money out, even though I came in with the 600. The agreement was that I woudl pay 600 cash, and then 600 in 2 weeks, totalling 1200.
I paid 600 cash, and the VERY NEXT DAY, the cashed the check. They will manipulate you if you don't know the law, and if you don't carefully read the paperwork. They made me believe (deceived) that I had owned the car, when really I did not own it. NOw this is not even HALF the story (this ain't even the bad part.)
I had to return the car. I brought the car back to the dealership. They did not refund my money. So, I kept calling them, telling them I need my 600, so I can pay my bills. Meanwhile, I had no car to drive for a week. THey tol dme the owner was down the shore, and he is the only person authorized to write a check. So a whole week, I was short 1200 and I needed that money for transportation to work and for my bills.
I kept going there, and begging for this money. They were so cold. One day I showed up in a taxi cab. I needed my money back so I could buy another car, so I could get to WORK. THEy made me miss work because I had no car to drive. They made me fall behind in my bills. They made me pay $300 for a cab that was sitting outside waiting for me, while I sat in the dealership, while NO ONE acknowledged my presence. No one wanted to help me.
Finally someone came up and said, "oh they'll be with you shortly." I waited, and waited. They obviuosly wanted to scam me out of $1200. They did not want to write me my check for the 1200. I saw the "owner" (first of all the owner lied to me and told me that he was not the owner). Finally 3 hours later, while at this point I owed the cab driver $300, the salesman came up to me and said, "Hi, what are you here for again?" As if he did not know! They are liars!
They were all laughing because they knew they had gotten me for 1200. I told him I wanted my check. He said, "Ohhh. Ummm... Well. The owner is not here right now, he stepped out. He won't be back until 8... And he is the only one authorized to write checks here." I said, "ok i'll come back at 8". He said, actually that may not be a good idea.
They were just playing with me. It was so obviuos. They thought I was born yesterday. So anyway, the cab driver is pissed because I owe him 300 and I cannot pay him, because I was really thinking I was getting my 1200 back. I did not know they would scam me. He was furious. We got the cops to go there, they did nothing either. It turns out, though, that they did lie to me, and the "owner" never left. Actually he snuck out the back, blatently, right in front of me!!!
What a shady prick, wussing out on a female. He could not face me, none of them could. They all lied and said that no one was authorized to write a check, which everyone knows is a lie... NOT TO MENTION, this 98 Neon, turned out to be 16,000?!?!?!?!?!!?!? With the switching of the #'s, they really broke the lemon law! It was 2300 and with the interest and taxes, 16,000?? I don't think so! That's a scam. But that's not the point. I had to return that car and they would not refund my money. THe owner snuck out the back because he did not want to write the check. THe manager said that he'd be back in a "few days'. YEA RIGHT, LIE.
He was back later on that night. They had all been lying to me saying how he was "down the shore" and that they could not write checks. My dad got involved. That very night, the same night that they swore up and down that no one could write checks, and that the owner was away on vacation, they gave the check to my dad, only because he seriously threatened them. How could someone be so cold, making a 20 yr old girl suffer because she is scammed 1200 and left with no transportation and having to take a CAB to work and to the dealership They should have paid me for the cab but I was lucky my dad got that $. This place shoudl burn down.
The owner is a liar, the owner's son, the manager I did a lot of research, and found out who is who. The manager claimed to be someone else, the owners claimed to be managers, etc. And the salesmen - they are so scheming. THe one Ed Ferraro (LIAR, THIEF), was actually my lab partner in high school. And go figure, he won Mr. Washington Twp. Almost everyone who works there is a liar and a thief. And a con artist.
They let me sit in there for 3 hours with a cab waiting outside, with NO ONE helping me. What low-lives. Making me sit there, while no one wanted to help. And they all "acted' to be busy. They "acted" like they did not know why i was there. And everyone there knew!
