On 7/1/03, we went on line and rented a car (confirmation # Z9124945) from Dollar. The car was being rented at Bradly Airport in Hartford, CT. The price quoted for the time period requested was $169.75 base price. We did not add one small extra upon picking up the car. The price actually charged was $260.58, about 60% higher than the quote. That is ridiculous.
The other rental car companies that we have do not charge 60% more than the quote. On August 25th, when we returned home, I wrote to Dollar. They gave me a Case Number (239906) and told me to wait 15 daus for a reply. I have never, ever heard another word from them. So, don't rent from Dollar unless you are prepared to pay 60% more than they quote you.
