On July 28 our car was taken from Household. I then called them the next morning and was told we owed a past due amount. I talked to many people and each of them gave me a different price.

So now they say I owe them 3,056. I asked why do I owe them so much? They said because of late fees, they had to hire a private investigator to find my number. Even thought we talked to them 4 weeks before. Plus everytime I talked to them they would ask do you still live at this address is your phone number this number and does your husband still work at this palce. I always told them the truth plus i have lived in this house going on 5 years and the same phone number.
I also had gotten an extension letter saying. All remaining payments on debt described below, with a BALANCE of 2,990.61 may be deferred for 3 months upon payment to Household Automotive Fincance Corp. Od 0.00 and completion of this form.
Owner (won't put real name) is now amended so that the current unpaid balance remains unchanged and future payments will be made in the amount tha follows: Monhtly Payments: 9 PAYMENTS of 367.97 first payment due 10/22/02. Your contract matures on 03/22/02
2nd letter dated 12/23/02 and notice its 2 months after the first letter.
AMOUNT DUE: 2.098.25 hmmmm so you see it went down. Ok now its July 7 MONTHS after this one letter saying I owe 2.098.25
I have made payments since this one letter
I save all my quick collect recipets just in case something like this happens and ALL there damn letters.
Payments: 2/21/03 1104.00,04/03 368.00,05/02 368.00,06/10/03 368.00,735.94 plus I made another one 368.00 (need to get that reciept as well) Western union is tracking it down for me).. So add all that up. TOTAL of payments in 7 MONTHS were 3303.94.
So how the hell can I still owe them 3,056?
They say lATE FEE's, Hire someone to look for us, repo charges (and car was taken only this once after we are done paying them off. When I called in to give them my control order for the quick collect I was told CONGRADULATIONS!!! Your free of car payments how does it feel. I said GREAT he then said ok you should get your pink slip in about 4 to 6 weeks. So of course we were waiting, Well 4 weeks and 3 days go buy and our car was taken in front of our home. (A neighbor saw it being driven away) We had no calls, written mail or warnings that our car was in the proscess of being taken or not even being told we owed them more money.
I asked this one person why didnt Household tell me or called me they said "Well thats not our responsability".
I did file complaint about them on BBB, Consumer and even called channel 13 news because they do TIPS ON LINE and checks out the company. I am going to be faxing all my papers to them and all letters recipts I mean everything. I am fileing a law suit against them.
That was our only family car, I was rushed to the hospital for panic anxiety attacks and was told it was all due to this stress. WARNING!!! Warning!!! Warning!!! NEVER EVER TRUST ANY OF THEM AT HOUSEHOLD ALWAYS RECORD YOUR MESSAGES like I do now) and keep every recipet of theres even if its an enevlope with the date stamped on it...
Now we need to get our car back and get Household for all this mess up... To all of you out there PLEASE be careful of people and compnies like this... I am just warning you from what I have gone threw also go look at there complaints at Better Business Bureau in San Diego on the internet... Bad bad bad...
