I brought my daughter's car to Kevin and Dyanne Small of Seaside Auto & Marine for repairs. They did a diagnostic, then asked me for the money UP FRONT for a part for the car. I paid them, yet the part was not the right part. They explained that they could not find another used part that was correct, so I went on Amazon.com and found what I thought was the correct part. I called them, gave them the model #, and they said yes, that's the part. If you order it, we'll install it.
That part was incorrect too. Meanwhile I had also brought my own car to them for a new headlight assembly, and to fix a rear break light, high beams, and hazard lights. They again asked me for money UP FRONT for the headlight assembly, which I paid to them. Upon installing the headlight assembly, they broke it.
By this time, I asked for a refund of the parts I had paid for, and they claimed that that money went toward the labor they put in to fix my cars. The only things fixed were the high beams, hazard lights, and rear brake light.
I had to bring my car to another garage, where they were able to replace the headlight assemly, but of course this cost me more money.
I have also brought my daughter's car to another garage, who informed me that the part that Seaside Auto & Marine tried to install was wrong because the numbers did not match up. They also informed me that if a mechanic asks for money in advance, he or she is NOT a reputable mechanic.
I have since had to order a new, correct part for my daughter's car, costing me and additional $125.00. Seaside Auto clearly does not know what they're doing, yet they demand money in advance.
The whole ordeal has cost me a total of $669.00!
I want to warn others that this people are incompetent thieves. I am a single mother, and these expenses just before Christmas have created a hardship for me and my family.
