We brought our Honda CRV to AAMCO, Linden, NJ in August 22 to check an engine light "for free" (as advertised) and they told us that it'll cost $1,500.00 and that it'll take 3 days to get it done... RIGHT!!! 10 days later and a few calls from me they said that the torque converter was bad and it'll cost NOW $ 3,200.00.
We said: " no " (because we had the trouble codes checked before by AAA.) then they want to charge us $600.00 just for checking it; at this point we knew we're victims of a fraud... And said go ahead... Of course they promised that the car will be like new, guaranty for a year, etc. More lies after that... They took advantage of a suburban woman.
This is the best (or worse) part: I had to wait for my car for a MONTH claiming that the Honda dealers didn't have a gasket, kept it on a lifter and he got rude with me on the phone and in person ;said things like: " I have to deal with the god dammed dealers and people like you", " I want to fix your car and don't see your face again". Then I called their corporate office and they called that the car was ready, I want there and they told me that they had a problem and i couldn't take my car. Waited another week and the car was ready, when I picked my car: THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON...
Went to a honda dealer and they told me that the fixing a torque converter it's only done on american old cars and the cost to fix my engine light it was only $ 500.00
Don't go there!!! These people wants your money so badly that they'll insult you and made you feel that they're doing you a big favor..
