I recently discovered the horrors of Citifinancial Auto for myself, when they stole my car from a repair shop. My payment was current, and the car was there for only twelve days.
The auto repair shop, (Northside Transmission Service, Porter, Texas) had reported the car abandoned for 33 days, and it was moved to another location. The repairs were made and also paid in full. I have the towing companies receipt when the vehicle was towed to the repair shop and the receipt for the repairs.
When I made arrangements to pick up the car, which was also within the twelve day period, I was told that the car was no longer at the shop, and instructed to contact Citifinancial Auto.
I immediately contacted Citifinancial Auto, (and tape recorded the call) and was told I needed to pay for the repairs? I told them that I had, and would send the receipt. They said they needed immediate payment of 4,100.00 plus a reposseion fee.
I asked what the 4,100.00 was for, and was told that was the amount that they had paid the repair shop. I told them that I had already paid for the repairs and they in no way totalled that amount.
It was suggested that I spek to "a supervisor", and left several messages on the so called supervisors voice mail, and was never called back.
I tried unsuccessfully to contact their so called lagal department.
I received a letter from Citifinancial Auto within 30 days of this disaster and was informed that they sold the vehicle, at a very reduced price and wanted me to pay the balance on the loan, plus 5,000.00 in legal fees?
Anyone out there have any suggestions? I have had absolutely no cooperation in talking with them, and feel like the Northpark Transmission Service and Citifinacial Auto are doing something illegal.
I am simply amazed.
