We purchased a used 2001 Land Rover Discovery II from Kia. The same night we brought it home the check engine light comes on. We brought it back to them the next morning and they had it for a couple weeks. They said it was a sensor. We took it home for a couple weeks and it was fine. Then the d*n light came on again so we brought it back down to them. They had it for 3 months this time. They said the head gasket was bad and had to be replaced at the end of it. So we got it back again and everything was fine for about a year. Then I started to over heat and blow antifreeze all over. We took it to a local machanic this time and after he had it for several months he discovered that Kia put the head gasket on upside down... Driving it like this for so long messed it all up and the block was cracked and I needed a new motor. Well after talking with Kia they werent going to do anything about it even though it was there fault.in the mean time we had to pay over $3000 to the mechanic for all the things he was doing and the bank wouldnt work with us on the problem so it went back to the bank and sold at auction for $2100 I think. My husband said he will never own a L. R again but it was KIA's fault for f*ing it up in the first place. If they would have put the parts on right this all whould never have happened. Please beware do not go to KIA for any type of service and before you buy a car have another mechanic check it over!
