Gus (Owner) Did not repair car's problem, Broke expensive parts and refused to take accountability, overcharged for non-results

I don't know about whether Gus at Jax Foreign Auto Repair is racist. I am a while middle-aged male and he ripped me off with not preference or prejudice.

I brought my car in because the supercharger sounded faulty. He took it off and sent it back to the manufacturer for a rebuild. Despite the exhuastive experience he claims, he sent my supercharger all the way to California with the throttle body and induction cover still attached. The throttle body was damaged in shipping. I even talked to the manuafactuer in California who received the shipment and sent photos of the damage. Despite the fact that the throttle body should never have been left on the unit to ship, Gus refused to accept that it was damaged in shipping - preferring to place the blame on the manufacturer. I thought a simple claim on UPS shipping insurance would remedy things with no hassle, BUT THIS EXPERIENCED OWNER DID NOT EVEN INSURE THE $1,500 OF PARTS THAT HE SHIPPED. EVEN THOUGH I WAS PAYING FOR SHIPPING ANYWAY, HE DID NOT INSURE THE PACKAGE AS ANY HALFWAY EXPERIENCED PERSON WOULD.

In as courtious manner as I could muster, I asked Gus if it was really reasonable that he would ship such an expensive part uninsured. He started to ltterally scream at me with cursing. He was incredibly insulted that I would dare insinuate that he could be at fault for anything whatsoever. He threatened to hang up on me.infer from this what you like about Gus. Make your own opinions.

The original issue was never fixed, and Gus let me know that superchargers were not his thing, so he had done the best he could. Not 10 minutes later, he stated that he did not want me to be unhappy that he had not repaired the car to satisfaction. Within 5 minutes of that he was charging me an additional $300 for no results. No reciept was ever provided splitting out parts from labor, and I got hit for over $1,500 so far - not including the other parts I had to replace from breakage while in Gus'es care.

My car has been sitting in the garage for 1 month waiting for repair. My next-door neighbor took one look under the hood, and was able to warn me that the supercharger was not re-mounted properly from Gus, and that the belt was rubbing on another belt. He also pointed out that it would be difficult to replace the belt in the fute since Gus has broken the end off of the belt tensioner, and would need to be replaced in order to facilitate belt replacement. That's another $43.00 I had to cough up today for the shoddy work. I don't bother with contacting Gus or the shop. They won't take responsibility for their work anyway.

Beware of this shop. They might break your car and hold it hostage. They will not take accountability for damages to your care, and they will always charge you even if they do not fix your car. As you can see from the owner's rebuttle, he always simply sidestep accountability and putting the problem back on to you, the customer. Due to this tendency, any rebuttles of this and other reports are simply more evidence of the owner's shifty business ethic and lack of professional competence.

By the way, my neighbor was able to source the strange sound and loss of boost back to a cracked weld on the intercooler. He popped the intercooler out with some handtools in the garage. We took it to Terry's welding (beautiful work there) and got it reparied for $40.00. We he re-installed the intercooler, and all is well.
