Did Not Warranty Broken Plow Frame

I bought a Sno-Way ST-80 plow for my 1999 Toyota Tacoma back in 2005. I bought the plow because it had "the best" warranty in the industry... 5 years.

I do not plow commercially! I take care of my own 80' driveway and my next door neighbors. The plow was great for the first 3 years... No issues. At the tail end of this winter - I noticed my plow was bouncing around a lot more than normal when driving down the road. I got out of the truck only to notice that what Sno-Way calls the A-Frame was cracked in half, exactly at a point where there was a pre-fabricated hole in the steel... What I would consider a "weak point" and a fault in design or craftsmanship.

I contacted the dealer I bought it from. He said, "let me guess... Is it broken right here?" and he proceeded to name the exact spot it was broken. He then told me SnoWay would not warranty this break, although he did not understand why, but he obviously dealt with it before. He encouraged me to talk directly with Sno-Way.

After contacting Sno-Way I finally heard back from a guy by the name of Andy Maas who handled warranty situation... 2 weeks later. He had me take pictures and send them off to him. After another 2 weeks, he got back to me and told me that they would not warranty this break, as the dealer had told me.

And guess what... They have changed the design of the A-Frame... Hmm... Wonder why?

I did a lot of Due Dilligence on plows and could have bought a Fisher, Curtis or other plow. I spent the xtra $ to buy the plow with the superior warranty, only to have dirt kicked in my face when I had an issue... This was even after the fact that I had recommended the same plow to a buddy of mine who does this for a living in the winter... Guess what... His plow broke in the same spot too!

Disgusted Sno-Way plow owner!
