My husband signed up for the warranty about 2 months ago. He like many of the others saw it on TV & thought it was great deal. I remember the day he called me & asked me what I thought about this deal. I told him to be very careful because it sounds too good to be true... Boy was I right about it.
Anyway, he went ahead & did it & was waiting for is warranty to kicks in. On Monday, April 27 he took the car to the Toyota Dealer & was told that the warranty is not in effect until April 28. The mechanic & my husband was told to leave the car there & call back on April 28 & start the process.
It has been a nightmare since!!! The mechanics tried several times to get in contact with a representative since April 28 & was on hold for minutes & then get cut off. He never gets anyone! There are no options to leave a message because the mail box is ALWAYS full!
We called again ourselves in the afternoon on April 28 and the gentleman that we finally spoke to told us someone will call the mechanic back immediately. We were told on April 29 again that an adjuster will call the dealer. They never did because the mechanic said he never spoke with anyone from US Fidelis. They lied that the mechanic never called & if he did he did not left a message.
The mechanic called again on April 30 but never gets anyone & holds on for minutes. On April 30, my husband & I called & we waited of 17 mins & then it said to leave a message but cut off without the option of leaving a message. We called again & used the home phone & cell phone just to have as many lines to get help. Finally when someone answered, she was so nasty that I went off. It was the same madness. She portrays us as doing them... US Fidelis wrong. She made me & my husband & the dealer... Us the customer never did our part. It is our fault & they are doing their job.
After the screaming match on April 30, they finally called the mechanic either right away or this morning. When my husband called this morning May 1 the mechanic told him they said they are not going to cover anything because the car was there at the dealer on April 27. Remember when the mechanic called on April 27, they told him the warranty is not in effect until April 28 so leave it there & call back or my husband would have to pay the $210 to get out & bring it back. There was no work done on the car. It is just there waiting for the adjuster to give the approval. We decided to leave the car there & it has been this nightmare!
My husband was so upset after what the mechanics told him this morning (May 1) that he cancelled the warranty.in doing so, they tried to offer him a better deal of saving $300 off his current plan. We haven't even get to use the so call best warranty plan with all the hassle we went thru for them to try & offer another deal. I called US Fidelis myself & left a message for Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, Media Contact but have not returned my call. I called back the customer care department to make sure they have cancelled his request & the representative "John" told me my husband record was lock. He said we should call back the administrative department to see the amount that will be refunded. The person my husband spoke to told him a % will be deducted from his payments. According to the information, he can cancel at anytime & did not recall it saying a % will be deducted if you cancel. Even the commercial was "no hassle" cancel at anytime.
Since April 27 the car is still in the shop & now we have to pay $210 with nothing being done.
This company US FIDELIS is the biggest SCAM. The representatives are all train to be on the same page. They give the same answers & have the same nasty mentally. I do hope something can be done because they are the worst!
