I, too am an ex-employee of this worthless, no good example of a human being. It started when he negotiated a payplan through one of his stooges (so called Generla Manager Ed Levy) who promised a payplan that seened workable provided several things take place. I was promised important things such as inventory, advertising and additional banks to buy deals, all of which turned out to be lies. Living 170 miles from the location they wanted me to manage, living expenses were part of the payplan (motel only, as I agreed to pay for my own food while there).
Within 2 weeks of being hired, Doug Plattner screwed me out of $1000.00 of our agreed upon pay-plan with the excuse... I interprit it differently than you! I wound up quitting within 4 weeks of my hire date only to have the General Manager (Ed Levy) give me a 50% raise, and again, a promise of inventory, advertising and all the tools to be successful.
The payplan was a joke as I never sold enough cars to even earn the draw. We averages 18 cars in stock, owning each of them about 4k over clean book. My 90 days there, we sold an average of 8 vehicles with virtually ZERO advertising, mostly selling 400 beacon customers through Credit Acceptance Corp.
Every day, the mail would arrive and I would open the bills only to find out that every bill, electric, water, phone, internet, DentBuster, Dealer Specialities, etc., were 90 days PAST DUE! We even had our phones cut off! We could not have an account with any gas station in town to buy gas for our used cars as he had screwed every one of them. Several other businesses in town refuse to deal with him on a credit basis as they know he does not pay!
The straw that broke the camels back is when Doug deccided that he would with-hold $950 of my $1000 draw check for a Motel bill (he agreed to pay) then changed his mind. He did not even have the balls to call and tell me he was doing this! Instead I worked 2 weeks for free as on payday... Guess what... NO CHECK!
I has to call payroll and he had the $6 dollar an hour clerk tell me that he had decided he would no longer pay for the motel and in fact had payroll deducted the pasts months bill from my check leaving me ZERO for 2 weeks work.
This man needs to be stopped! He is under investigation by the florida attorney general for false advertising, does not pay his vendors, cheats his employees out of hard earned dollars and is a disgrace to this already tarnished business we car the "car business".
