Dear UAC/CarHop: I purchased a 97 Ford Explorer February from CarHop. I was very excited and happy initially when I made my purchase because Derrick (sales person at the Rainer location) was so nice helpful and truly had excellent customer service. My prayer is that he gets out of there as soon as possible.

When it came time to set up the payment arrangements with UAC that is when the trouble began. They have NEVER gotten it right from day one when I made my first payment. During the first week in March, I asked them to switch my auto payments to my alternate checking account and it was not done in a timely manner and then blamed me for it and charged me $15.00 for their mistake! I have been constantly harassed by my so called account manager (gimme a break) Sierra at my job, home and cell phone for a measly $14.14!!

I have also repeatedly explained to them that I do not have direct deposit and to please wait until I physically go into the bank to deposit the money. But no, that would be too nice and maybe it would cause them to have a tiny bit of customer service.

In addition, I have been treated in a very unprofessional manner and even wonder if these people are equipped enough to handle people's private information? They speak rudely, treat you like crap and then have the nerve to act like it's your fault when you are paying them money!!??? Need I remind you that it supposed to be a customer service line, not a collections company.

In addition, the engine light has been on since a week passed since I have bought the car. I took it in to one of the requested Mechanic shops on CarHop's approved list only to find out that they didn't have the equipment necessary to look further into the car to see what is wrong and said it needs to go to a dealer to get diagnosed properly.

CarHop's warranty conveniently does not pay for a dealership garage or would pay for my own professional and licensed mechanic to work on the car. Now it is up to me to buy new seat belts, new tires and get my engine looked at out of my own pocket.

I came into CarHop desperate for a car and after having been out of work for 6 months, I really needed transportation and was excited. I would say that I have been disappointed but that would be and understatement as I have a car that has bald tires, two seat belts that don't work and they couldn't even find a tool to put my license plate on car. I have had to go to Shucks to find a frame for my license plate.

I have had cars before and was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. While I understand that most of the people who come into CarHop are folks with bad credit, that NO reason to treat them with such disrespect. My experience with CarHop has been absolutely horrible and you can best believe that I am going to tell everyone that I know not to use your service.

I am also going to post this online at usacomplaints.com, and the BBB. If your want to stay in business, you need to learn how to train your people with excellent customer service.
