Vehicle Service Contract misrepresented

I was unhappy with my purchase of Vehicle Service Contract sold by the dealer Herb Chamber's Saturn of Warwick.in my opinion, the sales representative deliberately misrepresented the contract's warranty Term Miles and expiration date. This misrepresentation seemed rehearsed and intentional.

Though I spent a long time with the Herb Chambers representative, in reflection, it is my perception that they made every effort to hide the fact that the warranty was a 6 year contract and knowingly tried to foster in my mind that the contract was completed when either the Term miles or expiration date was reached, which ever occurred first. At no time did the Herb Chambers representative divulge that, in fact, this was a 6 year contract and continued to allude to the term miles as the end of the contract, when in actuality it was the end of coverage. Even though this Vehicle Service Contract may be desirable for those consumers who feel they can abide terms for their "GUARANTEED PRICE REFUND" many of the conditions were misrepresented during the point of sale.

As a consumer I feel offended by this activity by a car dealer that I have purchased 2 cars from and was perfectly willing to purchase another car from. Now I will never purchase any vehicles from the Herb Chambers companies again.By the actions of the extended warranty department, I feel swindled and my regard for the integrity of the Herb Chambers brand has been betrayed. This is a very poor business practice. For any consumers who are offered a "GUARANTEED PRICE REFUND" on their Vehicle service contract this is the actual wording in the contract.

"Guaranteed Price Refund
The Administrator will refund the purchase price of this Contract (up to $2500), less sales tax and the cost of the GPR option, providing the Contract runs for the full term, and no claim for Coverage of Benefits was ever fited or had a claim denied under the terms of the Contract for abuse, neglect or failure to provide proper maintenance. All refunds will be paid in accordance with the guidelines below:

1. Refund will be paid only to original Contract Holder.
2. No refund will be paid due to repossession, total loss or theft of the Covered Vehicle.
3. No refund will be paid if the Service Contract has been cancelled or transferred.
4. The Covered Vehicle must have been registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles for the full term of the Service Contract. (Proof may be required.)
*5. The minimum term for the Contract is 36 months.*
6. Contract must expire by time (in months) to be eligible for the GPR.
7. GPR refund request must be made within 30 days after contract expiration. Payment will be made upon receipt of Refund Request Form, Proof of Current Ownership and this Service Contract (Contact Administrator at 1-800-441-1274 to request a Refund Request Form).
8. Use of any Benefit of the Service Contract, including Car Rental, Towing, or Travel Reimbursement voids the GPR program.
9. GPR option is available only at time of vehicle purchase.
10. GPR Option is not available on Premier Powertrain Coverage."
