Arranged to have a car shipped from Roseville, CA to Hilo, HI. Picked up on 2/4/03.
They required payment in full up front for all services per the contract. Thus I paid via personal check, $1450.
The car was then shipped and arrived in Hilo, HI on 3/5/03. However, Matson Navigation said they needed payment of $946 to release the car because Traditional Auto Shipping had not yet paid them.
Upon finding this out, I contacted the local carrier that was used to pick up and deliver to Oakland. They too had not been paid by TAS.
I have since called the 800 number which is not going through. I called the secondary number at 503-221-4447 and no answer/no recording.
So now I'm out an additional $946. And the local transport is out $200, which they said they will deal with on their own.
