Policy #xxxxx
I purchased a "platinum" warranty from warrantywarehouse.com after buying a 2002 Dodge Dakota (used) in June. The price of the plan was $1,638.
During the policy, I had one claim in the amount of $371.45. I recently cancelled the policy after 4 years, with about two years (and 13k miles) left before the policy expired.
The prorated refund amount was $337.80, with a $25 cancellation fee, I was expecting a refund of $312.80. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They proceeded to deduct the amount of claims from that refund amount, leaving me with -$58.65. After calling them several times, it was finally explained to me that on page 9 of their policy, it states that unless you reside in Florida, they can legally do this. To me, this is a TOTAL SCAM. Had warrantywarehouse.com been up-front about that detail, I would never have spent the $1638. For them to deduct the claim amount from the refund after you've already paid for the policy in full should be illegal.
I would not buy a warranty from them again.
