I got a certificate for free inspection on tranny from another garage. Took the truck into shop asked for est. Called the next day. I was told that the repeire would cost approx 350-500 dollars. I went out to ruck and they already haed transmission out and said it would cost me to just get it put back together stiil broken.
I never authorized the work to be done. Or not done which ever this qualifies as. I asked if I could leave the truck there untill after the holidays and was told no prob. I went back to ohio for the holidys and called the first week in feb. Steve then informed me that they were going to sell the truck. I said no way and asked for the est. Again.
This time I was told that the work that needed done would cost $1700.00. What a change! This is excluding the storage fee. I was also informed that the truck would still be considered abandoned and that they were going to sell by 2-21-03 if they didn't have the $.
I have been layed off and am waiting for income tax refund. I quess they are saying that I'm just outta luck. Have new son on the way and two daughters already. We depend on the truck as only trans.
